For a 4* hotel, there is still work to do. Though, there is a lot of potential.

On our first day, we were instantly greeted by a rude receptionist by the name "Jana". During check-in, after she mishandled our reservation and requirements we have paid extra for, we had been called liars and that we have, and I quote, "manipulated the order", when there was zero proof of such besides the data they have put in.

The requirement was a legitimate choice we selected in our booking process. We have paid extra for a view of the mountains from our room, and we were greeted with a view of the wall. Lastly, the fact we were gaslit by the receptionist that we have chosen the cheapest option (which we assume was some sort of her defense?) while it was, in fact, the most expensive one, is extremely inappropriate. Thankfully, the other receptionists during our stay were very nice and professional.

After this fiasco, we were finally given the room we have rightfully booked, without any apology from Jana or anything of the sort. The room itself was pretty, spacious, and well heated, considering the colder temperatures in Košice at the time. Though, the lack of a mini fridge and a kettle was unpleasant.

The breakfast was supplied with fresh food, or at least from what we experienced by being there early. We recommend you try the homemade spread, which comes with either eggs or tuna. I personally loved the beans, even in England we'd been served beans straight from the can, so I appreciate they did an extra work here in this hotel and actually prepared the beans.

Housekeeping services were more than satisfactory, our room was sparkling clean when we asked for our room to be cleaned.

The location is breathtaking, the ride to the hotel already being beautiful, set in a luscious forest.

The massages were amazing, though the first day (which was a Saturday) when we wanted to enjoy the wellness, we were greeted with sour-faced teenages, around eight of them. In the pool, in the whirlpool, at the bar, in the sauna... None of which were the hotel visitors, obvious by their lack of bathing gowns or slippers provided in the hotel rooms. This made the wellness unappealing to us, so we just turned and left. I'm not at all against sharing public spaces with other people, but when they start making out and sexual tension lingers in the air as if we were in a brothel, that's where we draw the line.

The situation was better on Monday and Tuesday during our stay. There were fewer people, though the pool is still too small to be shared with more than two people you don't know. Fortunately I was lucky and managed to have the pool for myself for about ten minutes, from which comes the video attached to this review.

IN CONCLUSION: Jana needs to work on her manners, and the wellness is not big enough to accommodate both hotel customers and outside visitors, AT LEAST during the weekends.

A practical solution would be to separate wellness access hours for hotel members and outsiders. Even if it's a couple of hours for the hotel visitors per day, as long as they're informed, the improvement would be noteworthy. If people that pay a couple euros for entering the wellness get the same treatment as hotel visitors that mainly pick this hotel for the convenience of wellness and pay hundreds for it, then I'm sorry but...

The location and the hotel is nice , good first impression, but all this was quickly erased due to the worse services ever: the reception desk was deserted- we had to search the hotel for someone to grit us and in the end a waiter from the restaurant found the receptionist... sleepy and moody, obviously unhappy we had arrived; after we waited about 10 minutes , for her to complete the form and had some information in a poor English language we hurried to the restaurant because at 9 they were closing the kitchen---- considering the hotel was isolated and there was no other solution for dinner , we didn't appreciate the restaurant program- and we were excited to go for a swim and relaxation after, because the pictures for the wellness centre were magnificent- THE MAIN REASON for which we chose this hotel. I must mention that even though we asked for a soup at 8.45 for our children 15 min before closing hour we were told that it is not possible because the kitchen is closed... Happy to go swim and relaxed we tried to forget the incident. We were told the pool is opened until 23.00, even though a little disappointed I wasn't able to benefit from a massage sesion cause the program was until 22.00. All 4 of us, with swimming suits and bathrobes walked happy to the pool. BUT WE WERE STILL TO DISCOVER THE BIGGEST SURPRISE!!!! We buzzed up at the door of the wellness centre, and we waited... but there was a man with a towel around his waist looking at us and after he disappeared, so we buzzed again and waited... the door finally opened and the same man - dressed this time - was walking towards us with both his hands raised. The first impression was that he was gritting us, but... he was showing the door and instead of good evening he start yelling "out! Out " he took us out showing us the door to go out!🤯 we went to our room speechless...unable to comprehend what just happened! I tried to ask the receptionist if she gave me the wrong information and the pool was closed the same time as the massage? And... BIG SURPRISE AGAIN ... she tried to speak in English telling me and my husband that we both heard wrong when she said that the pool closes at 23.00 and we were happy, she actually told us we were liars and she had told us 21.00 and insisted we heard wrong.... Again unable to understand we asked to speak to the manager, but SURPRISE.!!! AGAIN ... she told me simply that he is home sleeping!!! We gave up !!!! Tring to tell ourselves that maybe we can swim tomorrow morning , but we were tired so we prepared to go to bed and turned on the TV to take our minds off all that happened. SURPRISE AGAIN!!! THE REMOTE CONTROL DIDN'T WORK!!!! and they only had 10 local programs ... We all decided to try to sleep and forget about what we had just experienced in a 4* hotel! The next day we woke up and went for breakfast. I'm not very pretentious, but the food was horrible and all I could eat was a yogurt, cause everything else was looking as scraps... SO I DON'T RECOMAND IT TO ANYONE, CAUSE ALL THAT IS PRESENTED IS A LIE! I MADE A COMPLAIN TO THE MANAGER- EMAIL BECAUSE HE WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND AND A COMPLAINT TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE...

Hotel and rooms are very nice. The hotel is advertising unlimited wellness area for free for all guest. In reality you have to book a time to go to the wellness area even if you are their guest. We chose this hotel for the wellness and the kids playground outdoors, stayed for two nights. The wellness was all booked, unavailable for both days, the earliest time the hotel staff offered was 6 pm on day of departure, when 11 am is your checkout time. RIDICULOUS!!!|Wanted to go for a drink after our 2-yr-old fell asleep, the bar closes at 10 pm. In real life when we arrived at the Hotel Bar at 9:30 pm yesterday, we were told that the cash register was already closed, so we wanted to charge a couple coffees to our room and were told that they just cleaned the coffee maker, so no luck. REALLY??? Holiday in Slovakia, great place,...

Love this hotel. amazing hotel, in the woods and very close to the city center, very good wellness, the rooms are beautiful and clean and restaurant offers excellent food. the outer part of the restaurant is excellent, there is also a relaxation area for parents - double swings, and for children an excellent playground with everything possible. they also had a ping pong table, the only thing that wasn't finish was a petanque court. We hope on our next visit will be finish and running. There is picnic place right next to the hotel (20m), and they prepared for us an amazing picnic basket. We had lunch there. perfect, I highly recommend. and the staff we met were very nice, well trained. We hade time to walk around, you will love it. you must go, see, try. Thank you

While the place is really nice and authentic, there are a few things the hotel needs to improve. First, the variety and quality of food in no way responds to four star standards. The catering needs to be diversified and more be more tasty. Second, the staff can be more friendly and rooms better maintained in terms of cleanliness. Third, the attic floor is really not comfortable. I stayed in room 305, where the ceiling is an issue. You basically hit the head everytime you approach a bed or the toilet. If you are planning to stay in this property, try to get 2** rooms with full height ceiling. On the positive side, the building is super nice and really has that old character. The area and nature around the hotel is dantastic
