Atrium — Hotel in Malacky

My partner is Slovakian and from Malacky, so when my mother and her partner decided to visit us, we put them up in this hotel. My mother is not usually one to complain but after the first night she did mention that the shower wasnt working. We reported this and the receptionist came up with us to check for herself and also couldnt get it to work. She said someone would come to fix it the following day. As far as we knew no one ever checked as we heard no more. Upon asking when it would now be mended we were told that ut had been ticked off as 'done' yet we couldnt see any difference and still couldnt get the shower to work. Again, someone came upstairs to check with us and showed that it was a different mechanism and that nothing had been wrong from the beginning. However, instead of telling their guests how it does work, it was just ticked off (bearing in mind the receptionist also couldn't manage). The next few days my mother told us, that the breakfast in the hotel was awful. Apparently when they arrived at 8 (breakfast being from 6.30-10) there were only a few slices of bread, one type of 'sweaty' cheese and sausage as my mum described with only one or two slices of each and cold fried eggs on a plate at the bufet. Only instant coffee with an empty milk jug and empty juice jug and no staff around to ask for a top up. The second day they even left without having breakfast as there was nothing available again. This continued throughout the visit. Upon complaining at reception we were told that they should have said something and they would have been given more or they should have 'just come earlier' as 'most guests' would eat at 7. On their last evening they wanted to have a drink in the bar at 9.40 and were refused a drink (with a grunt) as they closed at 10. Upon leaving we made another complaint to which the receptionist answered with very rude manners by just smacking the calculator on the counter with the price and then again smacking the bill down without a single word of thanks or any sign of politeness. My mother then asked whether that was ut and she just said 'yep' and continued with her wirk. Very, very poor service indeed and we are really not ones to complain. The rooms are alright, not very well cleaned however and not worth it considering the service. We do not recommend this place at all...

Do yourself a favour and don’t stay this hotel.

On Fridays and Saturdays there is a nightclub in the basement with a rather impressive sound system that goes on to the early hours - 3 to 4am.

You won’t be able to sleep.

If you’re unlucky there might be a 60th birthday party in the foyer with a rival sound system. The party tunes will clash with the nightclub bass and you definitely won’t be able to sleep.

If you go down to reception to complain, they will simply say ‘This is what happens at Atrium’ as if it was dogma.

Now if you’re thinking... ‘Ah, I am not staying at weekends. I will be okay.’ Well think again... maybe on a Wednesday night, a group of drunk men will wake you up by singing karaoke and drinking beer on the sofas in the corridor. Admittedly, their rendition of The Rolling Stones’ ‘Wild Horses’ was impressive, but between the hours of 02:00 and 03:00 in the morning, it will mean that, again, you won’t be sleeping.

If you do manage to get a couple of hours sleep then you’ll be awoken by the cleaners chatting away at 6am.

Sleep on the streets, maybe just stay up all night in the club in the basement or, even better, just stay a different hotel in Malacky. Just avoid Atrium.

On the plus side, the location is great and they emptied our bin and changed the bath mat everyday.

This is my longest Google review to date, but I felt that Atrium deserved extra...

Tento hotel si zaslúži tak jednu hviezdičku za polohu a za decentnú izbu ale s nefunkčnou sprchou, ktorá po nahlásení "bola opravená". Nikto vám nepovie v akom štádiu oprava je, vy len vidíte, že ani za dva dni po nahlásení sa so sprchou nerobí nič. Sprcha vlastne nepotrebovala opravu ako nám s posmeškom povedal zamestnanec hotela po troch dňoch čakania, ale funguje na inom princípe, na ktorý však neprišla ani sama zamestnankyňa recepcie keď sme poruchu nahlasovali. O ôsmej na raňajky dostanete studenú instantnú kávu, dva krajce chleba so zapareným syrom. Alebo studenú praženicu s prázdnym džbánom od džúsu. Obsluhy sa nedočkáte a na recepcii vám na vašu sťažnosť povedia, že treba chodiť skôr aj keď sa raňajky podávajú do 10:00. Obsluha baru vám odmietne načapovať pivo 20 minút pred záverečnou. Milá pani recepčná vám v momente platenia šmarí účet pred vás, bez jediného slova si zoberie peniaze a ďalej len stojíte a márne čakáte na ďakujem, dovidenia, prepáčte za komplikácie a podobné znaky slušného správania. Spravili ste pekné meno Malackám a v očiach angličana aj celému Slovensku. Ľudia ak potrebujete ubytovanie pre svojich známych tomuto tzv dvojhviezdičkovému hotelu sa vyhnite. Veľká škoda. že hotel s výbornou lokalitou je v tak...
