Yet another hotel that claims to have 4* but the reality is unfortunately different. ||||Rooms ||Our room was equipped very poorly (see the attached photo). It was more a construction worker barracks style than a 4* hotel. There was neither a single chair in the room, nor a telephone so that you could ring the reception. The power plugs dont have a child protection. The rooms in the main building are maybe better but I think if you run a 4* place then at least some level of quality should be reflected no matter what type of room you stay at. Had we known they put us to such a room we would have never book a stay at this place. This category of rooms is not displayed at the website at all.||||Food ||Despite controversional reports here on tripadvisor we were actually very satisfied with the food. Some things were a bit bizarre (see photos) - brawn with vinegar placed next to cereal and yoghurts during breafast, salad bars in the amidst the dessert area but overall I feel the food was very very tasty (and I am quite picky about my food), variety was good (especially dinners), the staff was trying hard to keep up with our orders. I was really happy about this part of the experience. Kids liked to food as well (chicken nuggets, french fries, you know it ;-). ||||Wellness ||Again quite a bizarre experience. There is one pool which is okay , though it would be great to have there at least one water slide for kids or something. The chill-out area was actually very cold and the actual dress room FREEZING cold. It made the whole experience quite unpleasing, it was same on each and every day we went there. ||Moreover, the path to the wellness area goes through a very dark and gloomy tunnel and a hockey hall. You can "enjoy" the coldness of the hockey hall especially when you are going back from the wellness area/sauna world to your room. I kind of felt owners couldn't decide whether they wanted to run a 4* hotel or a hockey stadium with accommodation. The overall experience with the wellness area was very very bizarre. ||||Massages ||Quite overbooked but the prices were very nice and the service was fantastic. I really recommend it. They really try hard and helped me with my back tremendously. I go to massages regularly and have to say the lady was very professional. Many thanks for that. ||||Animation activities ||Our kids did not participate in a lot but the team seemed to be really dedicated and working hard to keep the youngsters entertained. ||||All in all, I think this hotel does not need much more than having someone from the management go somewhere like Austria for a vacation to find out how things work in a 4** hotel. Comparison with another hotel from the same category like Partizan for instance, would definitely break...
Read moreHotel Altis with nice surroundings and many sports facilities within its ground is well located hotel close to Oravska priehrada. Hotel is really bigger than you expect at this part of a country. We had customer event there so everything was prepared before. Regarding dishes, beverages, coffee breaks, conference room etc everything was quite good. We had warm and cold self service buffet, no problem. Regarding accomodation, room was clean, big, simply but effectively furnitured with good bed and mattress. I slept well. But windows were very dirty. Some recommendation for the management. When you expect more than ten guests it will be fine to have more than one waiter and receptionist on the place. Four star hotel should have it I am sure. The same story is unpleasant and annoying stuff. If you have four stars I would like to feel there well. Your waiters were not been polite and smiling. Last thing, windows. It is also part of room so I think cleaning them regularly is mandatory when you are four stars. From my side...
Read moreI've personally visited hotel only few times and had problems with the level of service mainly. Unfortunately, my business partner from Austria stayed there 2 nights and have complained about the rooms, the service and overall noise in the hotel (both night there were some parties and drunk guests were wandering around the hallways and knocking on the doors. This would be OK, but staff did not try to do anything about it!). He specifically asked me not to book me this hotel anymore. I felt ashamed for my choice and will be hoping this will not affect our business relationship. I will certainly not book any rooms in this hotel for my partners, customers...
