A small cosy chalet set in the midst of the pristine Tatra mountains region.Curiously enough there is a good one hour hilly walk to get to the chalet from the end of the car park where one is obliged to leave his car and walk all the way up the mountain side to Majlathova Chata. The Chata's interior is warm and cosy. Not much to do there other than sit around in the dining room area drinking ,eating or playing one of the many board games available for use by visitors.Unless one is adventurous and indulges in mountain walks through some well routed paths.During our visit(mid-May, it was still snowing, the nearby lake was frozen and walking on the frozen paths was rather treacherous). Our room,a family 5 bedded unit, was compact and had an en suite bathroom with a shower ,water closet and wash hand basin. On our departure from the Chata we opted to use the hotel's transport, which turned out to be a good decision, considering the heavy rain showers at our time...
Read moreWe came as a group of four friends, and we had dinner for quite a high price of 33 euros. We all had the same meal and it gave us food poisoning. All night long we puked in the bathroom, not fun. In the morning, we couldn't get on the road because we were too sick, and we had to check out at 8 30. We asked them for some more time in the room, and they gave us only 30 minutes. In general the staff was very unfriendly, and when we needed information for weather an similar stuff for the trail the next day, we asked the hotel 50 meters away. The hotel staff was very nice to us, and it seemed that it would be smarter to stay there. It was also cheeper. Eventually, when we realised we were too sick to hike, we asked the staff if there are ways to get to the nearest town, ten minutes drive, they charged us 20 euros for a ride. Definitely the worst part of the trip, would highly...
Read moreToday we visited the restaurant in this hotel and we were negatively surprised by the system that works here: guests in the restaurant are obliged to pay a fee for using the toilet. We already believe the slogan that Slovakia is completely unique. In no other country in the world have we as guests had to pay a fee for using the toilet. |Prices comparable or higher than in the Alps or the Pyrenees, the level of service and approach to the customer absolutely unacceptable.|We recommend that you definitely avoid this device and use other devices in the vicinity, the best solution would be to go to...
