Guesthouse Osvald — Hotel in Žirovnica

My room was very spartan, but, hey, I knew it would be, given I was paying €23.45 a night ...

... which included a huge buffet Slovenian breakfast. Ignoring the jams, I saw 16 foodstuffs to choose from, and I managed to get in 15!

The building is wonderful. A proper, traditional country Slovenian restaurant + hotel, with pretty, rustic architecture and gorgeous smells in the air all day. Opposite the hotel is the centre of the village of Žirovnica with a snow-capped mountain towering beyond.

The staff are out of this world. Friendly. Professional. And fortunately for me can speak...

The room was a run-down, dirty place. We asked for a room with an extra bed, but there was not an extra bed in the room, we informed the host, then the extra bed was put on the terrace in front of our room in the evening (pictures attached), because they could not put it in the room ( it simply did not fit ). The room was 20 m2 as described, but in reality it was much smaller. Fortunately we left the next morning, even at the cost of not being refunded for the room. I recommend it only for adventure and dirt lovers. Be careful with Booking.com photos, they can really embellish...

Es tut mir wirklich leid, dass ich solch eine Bewertung vergeben muss. Wir waren auf der Durchreise und haben für eine Nacht ein Zimmer gebucht. Das Personal war freundlich und das Check-in war problemlos. Das Gasthaus ist rustikal aber dreckig! Unser Zimmer war eine Katastrophe! In den Handtüchern waren Haare, die Bettlagen waren fleckig, Staub wurde auch schon lange nicht mehr gewischt, verschiedene Dreckflecken an Tür und Wänden, Steckdose konnte aus der Wand gezogen werden und auf dem Boden fand man Dreck und Ohrenstöpsel von Vormietern . Auf der WLAN Box begrüßte uns ein Nasensekret. Die Flure und Treppenaufgänge lassen auch von Sauberkeit zu wünschen übrig und demnach nicht sehr einladend. Über das Gemeinschaftsbad muss man gar nicht erst reden: dreckig, Wasserhahn und Spiegel waren kaputt und alles in einem sehr unhygienisch . Als ob es zu viel verlangt ist, mit dem Staubwedel und paar Putzsachen der Hygiene nachzugehen? Sehr enttäuschend, schrecklich und...
