A true gem in the Lake Bohinj area, must not miss! The location is perfect, at the start of the short trail to Slap Savica, and a perfect home base for our hut to hut trek in Triglav. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The food was delicious-breakfast was a huge spread and kept us fueled for a long hike. Dinner was exceptional-we especially enjoyed the fresh fish, cooked to perfection. The desserts were also delicious-all homemade. Alex is a wonderful host-fun and friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. It’s not easy to be friendly and warm to tourists day after day, but Alex manages to do it!! Thanks for the warm welcome, we hope to be back!

I don’t know how it used to be, but it’s a bit sad that this is now called a mountain hut. With all the tourists (myself included), the place feels more like a regular café that happens to serve some food. A mountain hut should be a place of peace, homemade meals, and beautiful views, tucked away in nature high up. Instead, you’re staring at a parking lot, people constantly walking by, loud music blasting from the speakers, and you’re breathing in car exhaust fumes. I ordered the goulash — the meat was either not cooked properly or had been made days ago and just reheated. It was tough to chew and overly seasoned. The waiters were in a rush but polite and welcoming.

We initially thought the food there was expensive given that it's nearest to the waterfalls. But it turned out, it's worth every penny! The food portions were huge, went there as a Filipino family of 4. Ordered the food set for 2 persons and it was plenty we think it would rather feed 3-4 persons. Our tummies were full and we even had a lot of leftover to take home. The male server who assisted us was very kind and friendly, and made our experience extra memorable. He's the bald guy, too bad we weren't able to get his name. We definitely recommend this place.

Rooms were very cosy and nicely equipped. We brought hairdryer with us, so it was no problem. A nice spot for hiking nearby. Mr. Matjaz gave us a warm welcome and even arranged for a discount on cable to Vogel. We were so zired every day from hiking and swimming that we appreciated lovel room with comfortable beds. Bathroom was great, recently renovated. Rooms in upper floor have even a small balcony. Breakfast was also great, we got coffee, sandwich, eggs and everything we expected. Our holiday in Savica was great. I would recommend it to people who like hiking to have most beautiful trails nearby. If the weather is not so great you can still visit Savica waterfall which is nearby. And also waking up in a forrest while a lively water is running in the near stream adds...

Nice people, no question. Nice hotel, but there are quite a few buts: the restaurant closes at 18:00, and Koča pri Savici was not really what I would call great. So for proper food, you need your car. Breakfast is ok, but nothing local, just what you find in warehouses. No TV on the room (we were there during the Olympics), no fridge. But also no fridge on the hallway. It can be really hot in Slovenia. A small fridge on the hallway would have been nice. You do have the silence of nature at night. E.g. for a hotel in the middle of nature, I would have expected refillable packaging in the bathroom: ...nope.|In the end we payed a whole lot less for a longer period with one person more in south Slovenia, including local breakfast and fabulous diner,...

Me and my girlfriend ordered drinks as we were not yet decided on what to eat. When the waiter brought us the drinks, he simply walked away before we had the chance to order. We kept waiting, looked him in the eyes multiple times as he walked by but he never stopped, even when he saw that we were done looking at the menu. After that, some other waiters started rearranging the tables around us into a circle and one of them simply placed a "reserved" sign on our and some other (empty) tables. We also heard a band practicing inside the place and concluded that an event is taking place and we won't be served any food. No one told us so, though, so we just walked out to the other restaurant, just across the street, where the staff was much nicer, fast and...
