Location is unique and just awesome. Good that there is a camp before the hotel, so the location can be enjoyed by non hotel guests. Also big parking space is cool. The second great thing are the SPA facilities with an non crowdy empty 17m swiming pool with the water in normal temperatures. This is a gem, especialy as it is not crowded. I would also reccomend the massage service. After hikes and cycling to all the great destinations around it is a must. Unfortunately the food at breakfast and the dinner is just ok and nothing more. The only extraordinarely good food was the strawberry icecream at the dinner. Looked like majority of the food at the dinner was preprepared and then unfortunatly overheated so overcooked or dry. Putting a bit lower heating would help already a bit, but not to poor ingredients. Gordon Ramsey would probably throw everybody out of the kitchen as this is definitely not the way for the stars on the hotel entrance. Also just a bit more attention to procurement of ingrediants would make a big difference. Fruit and salats were old and without any taste. If the person procuring it would try them upfront he would surely not buy them. There was also no berries, ananas or anything over the base minimum. Luckily the water coming from surrounding hills is just superb, so the basis drinking in this case was superb by default. Please do not serve honey from China - better go without it. Regarding the hotel architecture I liked it. Looks like it has an old and new part and overall there is a nice combination of wood, iron and concrete putting a great place into s great location. Hotel Špik would rightly earn 3stars, but I sm putting 4, as I see great potential with a few distinct changes by people with some taste and artistic view and attention to perfection. Hope somebody recognizes the big room for improvement and makes this place deserving the price and stars it puts on himself now.

Very nice hotel at an excellent location inside the forest. The staff were very polite and even gave me early check in. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool and gym, but in all reality you don’t actually need them when you can go hiking running and swimming at the beautiful mountains and lakes around in near proximity of the hotel. The breakfast was one of the best I had ever had as the variety of the food was massive. Overall a very nice experience. What they could improve are the window blinds in the rooms which don’t block the sun good enough if you want to wake up late. But if even if you wake up early it’s an opportunity to admire the stunning nature even better when the is rising as the colors are fantastic. I would definitely visit again in the winter for skiing.
