Hotel Planinka — Hotel in Ljubno

We decided to spend a weekend at this hotel, as it is also known for its restaurant. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that they could not offer us dinner as everything was already booked, obviously by guests who were not staying at the hotel. We went to one of the local pubs for dinner. However, we were hoping that we could have dinner the next day. Unfortunately, we got the same answer - no space available in the restaurant! Strangely enough, they did not think it was a problem at all! We found this very unprofessional. On top of that, there was no place to properly park the car when we arrived. They did not find that a problem either. On the first day, we left early in the morning. When we returned 4 hours later the room was not cleaned and we had no fresh towels in the bathroom. ||||On a positive note, the room was good, pretty big and decently renovated, the bathroom was also good. The breakfast is also good. ||||Overall we were quite disappointed with our stay at this hotel. If you decide to stay at this hotel, make sure to get a confirmation of parking reservation and also a confirmation of table...

We stayed at Hotel Planinka as a family with two kids. Unfortunately, our experience was mixed. Our room was on the second floor, and there’s no elevator, so we had to carry four bags and the kids up the stairs ourselves, which was quite inconvenient.

There’s no air conditioning, and no window nets, which made it uncomfortable during warm weather and let insects in. On Sunday morning, we were woken up very early (7 a.m.) by loud church bells nearby – something to be aware of if you’re a light sleeper.

The hotel has an old-style charm with lots of carpeted areas – not modern, but everything was clean. Breakfast was okay, nothing special – more like a 3-star level.

Once in a while you discover a little gem like this... Staying in the area we were looking for a good place to eat... Some people we’ve met advised us the restaurant of hotel Planinka. We have been road tripping in Slovenia for 2 weeks and without any doubt this was the best food we had! The service was impeccable. The quality of the food amazing, the wine execellent and the price unbelievable.
