Tourist Farm Govc - Vršnik — Hotel in Solčava

Amazing view, fantastic service, and top notch traditional Slovenian food. All that and affordable as well. I wholeheartedly recommend coming here. We discovered this place from our host of the room we were staying in. We traveled here using public transport entirely and watching the landscape from the train and bus really drives home how beautiful this country is. The farm is situated on the Robanov Kot trail with parking for guests. It was a short walk on a paved road from where we were staying and when the view opened up we were quite stunned. We walked in and were greeted by Miha who told us we could sit where we like so we chose the outside seating. A few minutes later Miha arrived to give us a welcome drink and ask about our food allergies/preferences as well as offer a Slovenian wine selection. We felt like family almost right away and were fed as such. Miha is a great host and has a lovely unstressed vibe. We had lots of questions that he happily answered. While we did not stay there I can only assume that it would be a great place to stay. Everything was as clean and tidy as any 4 star hotel in my opinion. We asked about rates and it was quite reasonable with rooms starting for around 100...

We stayed at Govc-Vrsnik for 4 nights and it was absolutely lovely. We were debating between staying here or in a well known luxury hotel in the area and have come to the conclusion that we lucked in and made the right decision. The feel and surroundings of the farm are more in-keeping with the tradition and heritage of the area. On top of that, among all farm stays, I think Govc-Vrsnik is the best! The rooms are rustic (in a good way), ultra clean and comfortable, the farm to table breakfasts and dinners are amazing (and generous!). We never had a bad meal here (3x breakfast and dinner) - all consistently very good. The surroundings, feel and our gracious, kind and generous hosts (Marijana, Miha and Matias) all contributed to a perfect and enjoyable stay. Our hosts are very amenable to requests and just wanted to make sure we had a comfortable stay. And finally, let's not forget the stunning views everywhere you look. The owners are the kindest people in the world! I've met so many hosts before and I've never met more thoughtful hosts like Nina and Marjana. The bed and the blankets are also super comfortable, my mother and I slept like babies. I had overlooked the distances when I booked and Nina had already known that and had made plans to help me get to some hiking spots. So touched! We were also hit by super low temperatures and we were actually just stuck at the farm until they also kindly decided to lend us some coats so we could see the valley. We didn't even ask cos we didn't want to trouble them, but they were so thoughtful and kind to offer!

My mother and I were so grateful and felt absolutely welcomed by them. No wonder they have countless guests returning! It's the same for me! I hope to come back again to see Solčava in its full glory when it's sunny!! Thank you so much everyone...
