||I am writing a review of this hotel as I received a receipt for this hotel who took money from my account card after being told not to touch my account. I have never experienced or had to write a review like in my life of world travel. |NO WARM WELCOME HERE. ||I did not even stay here as I was denied access because the key did not work and i tried to call the numbers given. No answer from the hotel on any numbers. I unintentionally woke a guest who kindly tried to help me gain entry. Yes a guest not a staff member. |The management said they watched me on camera try to gain entry yet left me there struggling until I got a room in the Grand Plaza who were exceptional what a wonderful Quality hotel with properly trained polite staff. I had to get a taxi there from this place. The management at Bit/WUD were extremely rude and blamed me for this. Clearly no training no ability and unable to deal with upset customers who are left out in an industrial site at 2. 30 in the morning. Coming from Ireland where standards, are high and staff are properly trained and professional courtesy is standard I was shocked at this lack of even basic training. Instead of compensating me and checking if i was ok like a good quality hotel would do they charged me for this experience.| This is not an area to be left stranded in its way out of town in an industrial estate or area. The name was clearly written on the front of the hotel. I was exhausted very upset and left traumatised after this dreadful experience. In over 20 years of world travel using Booking. Com all the time I have never experienced this. The staff and management clearly have absolutely no training in hospitality. Cutting corners no night staff no security no safety of any description a place out in the middle of an industrial area. Unfortnately I made a poor choice in this hotel. I am still very upset and traumatised. When I complained I was told I was threatening the staff. You could not make this up. I mean of course Im going to be upset. I am hardy going to say oh thank you so much for denying me access to My room at 2.30 and thanks a million for charging me for this absolute nightmare situation. ||This hotel management took no responsibility or accountability for their dreadful behaviour. I have never had to write a review like this before and i do not like doing it and I would have let it go but for the fact they took money for a NO SHOW FEE for being locked out of the hotel and denied access. I do not want someone else to have to endure this nightmare. There are lots of lovely quality hotels in the city centre with properly trained staff good food a warm welcome and comfort. Please be aware before giving account or card details to anyone. Steer well clear of this...
Read moreUnfortunately I would not stay there again. The main floor is really old, the bathrooms are super small and the curtain in the "shower" was brown on the bottom. Everywhere is mold. If you go for a shower the whole bathroom is wet and there is also no window in the bathroom. |I choose this location to avoid the city noise, but we had some troubles with the neighbors "Bar" ..they played loud music till 11pm ( might even longer if we didn't complained at the reception 2 Times). The bass was so loud it feels like we were in the Bar...there was no chance to sleep with this beats. |The reception was friendly, but we felt that this issue is happening more often and not really taken seriously. |I really need to say that the rate is too expensive for a 2 star hotel. |There is a fitness center in the hotel, a lot of locals are coming here to go for trainings. |At check out they did not even ask if the stay was ok after all....||Plus point: Breakfast was really good, parking was free..easy to go to the city...
Read moreOur room wasn't great. The hostel is underground and our room was painted with a 'shabby chic' effect which looked like someone had got bored painting. And the only light was a fluorescent hanging bulb from the ceiling. The female toilets did not have private shower cubicles yet the male toilets did... (?) We also got up to use the sauna one morning and were told you need to give 2 hours notice as they need to switch it on. This wasn't told to us when we enquired about it at reception.
Overall, it was serviceable and you get what you pay for! The hostel is around an hour walk from city centre but there are regular buses which run for only €1.20. you need to get a bus card to load money on to as the buses don't take cash. (Which reception also didn't warn us about when we enquired about buses) On the bright side, the hostel is directly across from a Lidl with a €1 euro coffee machine which...
