I visited the restaurant “10 and a half” in the Štepanjsko naselje district of Ljubljana and ordered a grilled burger in a bun, ćevapčići in a bun, prebranec, and a spinach pie (“zeljanica”). The ćevapčići, burger and prebranec were fine, but the spinach pie was burnt on the bottom.
I informed the waiter about this and he offered us a new one. We said it was no problem and asked him to pack it for home, which he did—placed in a cardboard box inside a paper bag. However, he probably assumed we wouldn’t open the box and inspect the pie.
When we opened it, we found that the new spinach pie was even worse than the first one—burnt not only on the bottom but also on the top. I told the waiter that we would not take it, which he accepted quietly and took the bag with the pie away.
When he gave us the bill, I had to ask for a receipt—and on the receipt, the spinach pie was still charged, even though we had rejected it. When I pointed this out to the waiter and asked why we were charged for something that wasn’t acceptable, he got upset and said he had made two pies and that since neither was good he only charged one, and asked if we wanted him to make another one. I replied that no, it wouldn’t help since the first two were already burnt.
After about five minutes of arguing, the waiter agreed to refund the money, but he did so very rudely—he threw five euros onto the bar, even though the price of the pie was 5.40 €. To everyone reading this review: be cautious. The waiter was aggressive, and in my opinion the restaurant offers nothing special that you can’t obtain elsewhere in Ljubljana. As a local, I am familiar with this type of cuisine and the rudeness that people from the Balkans...
Read moreAfter dining at the Deset v pol, I just had to write a review. It was nothing short but of extraordinary! The menu boats a culinary masterpiece and I highly recommend indulging in every dish. The kitchen chef truly excels in delivering delectable creations, with a special mention for the Baklava desert, it is a must try, especially the one with pistachio. My personal favorite surprisingly was the salad, with the vegetables stealing the spotlight, at least for me. For all beer enthusiasts, the premium Sarajevsko beer is a hidden gem on the menu.
Last but not least, the waiter was very friendly and fast to respond to your order. I will be coming back when...
Read moreWe’ve eaten here on more than several occasions when we have been in Ljubljana. The ćevape are sensational. In particular, I’ve had the “Rahat Plošča” which includes 5 ćevape, 2 thin long sausages and a beef chop along with homemade ajvar and kajmak, onions and lepinja. The kids love the veal stew. Hand on heart, I can say this is the best Balkan food that I have had anywhere in the region as a whole. Lastly, a big thank you to Muradif who welcomed us and made us feel at home each time...
