Hilltop Guesthouse — Hotel in Bellville

I would definitely stay at HILLTOP GH again. The rooms were lovely. Not only thoughtfully and well- appointed but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. ||||My only suggestion would be regarding the showers. The doors swing outwards and make the bathroom floor wet and the tiles may be slippery. There was a bathmat provided but when the door was opened, it was so flush against the floor that it moved the bathmat to the side of the shower. ||||Also remember that breakfast is served at 8.30 sharp, which I wasn't made aware of when I checked in. This resulted in a terse phone call from the Manager and I got to breakfast about 8.45. Perhaps a little more friendliness and less impersonal, businesslike communication with guests could be considered?||||I would definitely stay at HILLTOP GH again though. It was peaceful, I got a good night's sleep and was well rested for our business for the rest of the day. The pool was also sparkling clean and weather permitting, it would have been lovely to swim at the end of a long day. The view is also...

What a disappointing stay: I phoned management before I booked a room, to ask if there are lots of stairs...the answer was "just a few at the pool" - I had to carry my luggage down and up three flights of stairs myself. I chose a guesthouse with an aircon, just to find that the aircon was regulated by management and did not work the times it was needed most! For very specific reasons I told management that they don't need to service the room, and I don't want anyone to access my room during my stay...I was promised that my wishes will be respected. On my return to the room, my stuff was moved around in the room and not how I left it. I also chose this guesthouse because of the outdoor table and chairs...which I could not enjoy because it was dirty. It was my first and last stay...

Accomodation was adequate, except for the number of stairs to climb with luggage to reach the room.|||| In kitchen there is a raised tile with sharp edges that could easily cause an injury. ||||Also suggested they have single duvets available as one single large duvet is not always ideal for 2 people. Their propsal was that they would buy one on my behalf and charge me for it !!.||||Lastly, as we were only catching our flight later that afternoon, requested a slightly later check out, for which they wanted to charge an additional ZAR850 !! ||||Overall, was disappointed, as they seem to be more concerned about their financial gain, than...
