Rivertides Guest House Laaiplek — Hotel in Bergrivier Local Municipality

Gem of a place, our unit has a river view. There is a private jetty and the Steenbras are biting (Sept). Every morning and evening thousands of cormorants fly by from their nesting sites to the sea. From the deck you can see the Laaiplek harbour. The porch is protected from the wind, and there are outside braai places. Inside the unit, there is a kitchen / dining area with a table 2 chairs and 2 lounger chairs. Airconditioning bar fridge, microwave, 2 plate stove and mini oven, toaster and kettle. The lights are on invertor back up so when the power is off you still have light. There is plenty of packing space. Our unit is for a couple. I would not recommend small children, as there is no gate protecting access to the river, although this makes for amazing views. Superb spot. Definitely...

What a very special little place on the river with outstanding views and picturesque sunsets. The owner Mike is wonderful and made us feel very comfortable and at home from the minute we arrived. He is very knowledgeable of the area and can offer good advice on what to see and which restaurants to visit. The rooms are wonderfully laid out and have absolutely everything that you may need during your stay. There are also canoes available should you wish to go out and try your hand at rowing. My friend and I spent the most wonderful two nights at Rivertides. We were in awe of the glorious views and the multitude of birds on the jetty, and having sundowners watching hundreds of cormorants flying home to roost was a total delight. A morning spent watching them head out to sea again was the best way to start our day. Mike was the consummate host - warm and welcoming and catering to our needs before we even asked.
