Kassiesbaai Cottage is located within the Heritage Site filled with beautiful buildings overlooking the sea. The local dog "Sushi" is well behaved and always happy to come fetch a snack.
There is a separate braai area on the other side of the property overlooking the sea. Unfortunately the beach is difficult to reach as the braai area is on a steep hill and not to save to climb down. The attached photo is unfortunately the only one we took through the glass door showing the braai room but also reflecting the building behind us.
The cottage is within walking distance from the Arniston Hotel where we visited their restaurant often.
The main bedroom on ground floor has a nice firm mattress and bedding was comfortable.
The bathroom is spacious and although there is no bath tub it has a oversized shower with good water pressure.
There is a lovely bedside fan for the warm evenings.
There are two single beds upstairs. I can't imagine grownups making use of them as the roof is very low. I would also not allow my 9year old to sleep up there as the steps leading to that level is very steep and no toilets upstairs.
I must admit I really enjoyed the cottage. It's warm and cozy. I am not one who needs all the extras. I want a clean place to lay down my head which is private and secure. The area and cottage is filled with character. And the view from the property (braai area) over the sea is breath taking.
There is a TV with DSTV.
Sushi the resident dog was a pleasure to have around.
Even though the host lives in the attached cottage privacy was not an issue as I did not see them after the initial handing over of keys.
My vehicle was parked outside directly next to the front door and I did not experience any security issues.
We hope to be coming back in the...
Read moreWonderful welcome, even though we were last minute walk-ins. Spotless and very well equipped. The hosts were warm and obliging. The cottage is authentic but beautifully modernised and has use of a private lounge/braai area right on the edge of the sea! I would highly recommend it and look forward to...
