One of the many good things about Klein Boschkloof is how well equipped the self-catering accommodation is - lots of little touches, such as washing powder and fabric conditioner for the washing machine, washing up liquid, lots of pots, pans, utensils (including for the braai), condiments (salt, pepper etc), and even shower gel / shampoo and conditioner - basically meaning all your essentials are taken care of so you can relax when you arrive and you don't need to buy things you would hardly use. We statyed in Ou Huis which was very spacious for two, and very good value for money. We didn't mind paying the supplement for wifi - it was not excessive. It was so peaceful and we hardly saw other guests - it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The braai area and garden is very private, with a nice view. The only improvement I would suggest is to warn guests about the razor wire on the access gate - it's just at head height if you are tall and you need to take care not to catch youself on it! Overall, can highly recommend this place as a base for staying in the...
Read moreMy wife and I recently spent 3 nights at Klein Boschkloof – we stayed in Ou Huis. It is a lovely old cottage with a great braai area and a beautiful garden full of fruit trees – the mulberry tree is amazing. The bed is comfortable, and the kitchen has all the appliances you would need. During our stay, the shower was leaking and after every shower there was water all over the bathroom floor. We did mention this to the owner so before booking please check that this has been repaired as this was mentioned on a previous review posted a year ago. As the cottages water is supplied from the well point and stored in tanks it is not possible to shower during load-shedding. The pool was not cleaned once during our stay so was full of sand at the bottom … Oranges can be bought from the farm but not picked from the trees. Although Klein Boschkloof claims to have a four-star rating from the Tourism Council, we could not find them listed on the Tourism...
Read moreLoved the position outside of Clanwilliam. A beautiful drive in.||Divine orange trees.||Guesthouse owner did not meet us with a mask, and never attempted to put one on. In this time, middle of Covid, that is NOT okay. She also had no clue about social distancing.||On the other hand, the housekeepers were fantastic. They were all masked and friendly. A place that insists the housekeepers are masked, but the owner herself is not masked, left me a little uncomfortable.||One of our party was in a wheelchair and had been given the more wheelchair friendly room. It is not overly wheelchair friendly.||I would only suggest this place for the position which is stunning and for the orange trees. It is remote and definitely private and well equipped for self catering though. ||There are two huge dogs on the property which is great if you like huge dogs, and they are very gentle, but not great if you don't like big dogs!||So, a...
