Ibis House — Hotel in Constantia

Caveat Emptor to Anyone Making any kind of Group Booking with Ibis House:

Made a reservation over a month in advance with Ibis House for a company function. Noted the amount of people that would be in attendance in advance with the host and booking was confirmed from their side.

Within 1 week of our event's scheduled date, the host cancelled the booking citing 'previous guests that had a party and made a noise'.

We'd already made expensive and non-refundable arrangements for transport and catering for this event.

Just imagine if you booked a wedding and the venue told you at the last minute that they are going to cancel on you. Incredibly unprofessional.

Ultimately, the host said that they will no longer host functions of any kind on their premises, and will not offer weddings, etc because their neighbours have 'effectively banned them' from doing so.

We managed to make an alternate arrangement within the one week and had a much nicer company function than Ibis House would've provided, but this was still an incredibly stressful process to be put through.

As of today, the Ibis House website still prominently lists Wedding functions on their website, hence prompting the review from my side.

Given that guests are no longer allowed to make and I quote directly from the host's communications with me: 'any kind of noise that the neighbours can hear', this should be clearly noted on the website and booking page for Ibis House. And the Wedding section should be removed as it is false advertising for a service that Ibis House no...

We stayed at Ibis House for just two nights (wished it had been a week), what a breathtaking property, on arrival we were treated by Matthew who informed us that we had been upgraded to a Suite, the quality and the size of the room was absolutely wonderful, every part of this house and garden is a delight, with so many wonderful views, seating areas and a fantastic pool.|We have travelled to many different places but this wonderful property was by far the most beautiful.|We must also thank everyone for there kindness and help while there, special thanks to the young couple who prepared our breakfasts.|If we had known how wonderful Ibis House was before we arrived we would certainly and stopped longer, and hopefully will return in the not so...

Our first stop on a month long trip to South Africa - and what a way to start. Manager Matthew arranged an early check-in after an overnight flight, and when he showed us to our room, we were truly astounded. "Room" doesn't do it justice; "suite" is more appropriate.
