Birch Bush Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Dihlabeng Local Municipality

This B&B is spread over a few houses, along the same sidewalk. Even the garages have been transformed into rooms! The room we occupied had 3 single beds. Luckily, we were only 2 adults because the space was limited and would have been really tight should have we been 3. The room was well equipped with a wardrobe, fridge, gas stove, microwave, kitchen sink and china, as well complimentary coffee and tea. The shower/toilet was extremely narrow. The 3 beds had only one bedside table with one single lamp and the middle bed could not be occupied because located underneath the A/C. The free parking in front of the room was convenient. The lack of Wifi was a problem. The location was however excellent, especially because of the vicinity of a large Mall. The neighborhood was residential and quiet. I need however to mention that I regret the way the hostess misused my credit card, forcing me to pay cash, and giving me the impression that I was trying to cheat. I used the card right after in the Mall and had absolutely no problem with it. The next day...she had the audacity to "remind me that I had an outstanding amount to pay", once again giving me the impression that I was taking advantage whereas I had already paid the full amount the previous day. We failed to secure accommodation in Clarens as it was late on a Friday afternoon. I phoned Birch Bush and the friendly staff helped us immediately. They went out of their way to get us a room, make us comfortable and even searched for alternative accommodation in Clarens for the Saturday night. They were not successful as every room was booked out but did their best anyway.|The rooms are clean and well kept by friendly Afrikaans speaking staff who even moved our luggage to a bigger room the next morning on our behalf. |We were late for breakfast but the staff waited for us and then served us like royalty. Breakfast was tasty and more than enough.|The premises is secure and child friendly.|If I have to make any recommendations for improvement, it would be shaded parking. |I will make use of Birch Bush B&B any time again and will highly recommend it to anyone looking for professional service and great accommodation in...

Needing a stop over on the way back to Durban, we were pleasantly surprised with Birch Bush. The location is not far from the main road and night time was very quiet, however the proximity of the airfield did result in some light aircraft noise in the morning, this was however minimal. Room was very clean and spacious with a small wash up sink, microwave, fridge and basic utensils - perfect should you wish to self-cater. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and the bathroom is modern and everything functions perfectly. The breakfast room is restful with a lovely mural and soft music playing in the background.
