Whatever you do, PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE! Last night We (a group of 5 couples) arrived at Indigo Moon Guesthouse very late due to heavy rains, flooding on roads and poorly lit roads. When we arrived we called to request entrance and the lady (Maralize) started off by saying she won’t be opening for us because we are late and other people haven’t paid. I was confused because My husband and I had fully paid. We then told her that she doesn’t need to open for the the others but we (who have fully paid) need to be let in. She then said she’ll come but she is charging us R100 for arriving here after 9 (this wasn’t an issue). She also said “it’s Friday and she has other things to do and places to be”. When she got to the property, again she kept going on about R100. At some point I was like “how many of them do you want so you can stop badgering us?” Mind you we have been on the premises for 20min now and are still standing outside in the cold rain. Maralize didn’t feel the need to have these conversations with us in the reception area! We gave her the money. When we entered the property there was load shedding however we still asked to see the rooms. We requested to change other rooms because they were not well kept. The bathrooms were really bad and didn’t look clean at all. We decided to stay up until electricity came back on the property and headed over to our room (D4) When we got to D4, the power was still not on. We sent a text asking for assistance and nobody responded. After 15min in the cold and dark, we texted Maralize again and told her we would move to another room (D7) that was available. Room D7 had been previously allocated to a couple in our group, but they requested to move to another room as this one was situated up a flight of slippery steel stairs. Needless to say, my husband and I decided to sleep there because we were desperate. The bathroom was hardly clean 🤢 and every time you moved on the bed it made such a horrible sound and it felt like it would break. The next morning Maralize banged on our door and asked why we moved. We told her that we couldn’t stay in a dark and cold room and that we contacted her several times via WhatsApp for help. She then rudely said “pack your bags and leave”. I have never in my life had to deal with a rude host. My friends then tried to intervene and her boyfriend started coming closer to us so we could see his unholstered fire arm and He proceeded by threatening to kick everyone out. At some point my friend took out his phone to record Maralize and her boyfriend and she started crying saying we were invading her space!! Anyway my husband and I decided to leave the premises and we went and stayed at Lee’s Haven Guest (Beautiful modern rooms for on R550). 2 of our friends also left and didn’t stay for their booked duration. A lot of the people in SA need to start living forward and stop thinking they are entitled to treat paying guests in a certain way. I am sure Maralize and her cowboy will tell the owner a different version of these events but the cleaning staff saw everything and they even advised us to call the owner and report this treatment and behavior.

Excellent place to stay, good breakfast and lunch packs, good supper, listen to frog's singing at the dam next door, funny no mosquitoes. I did ask them to do something about their internet. The guest lady look after all my needs

Check in process was horrible, I was informed my card didn't go through on the Agoda system, when I tried to show the lady that the transaction had been captured on my account she wouldn't spare me a second. I asked her to check with Agoda because everything looked fine on my side, she responded to say she can't do that, she will have to charge me and I must sort it out myself. I then decided to call the Agoda call centre where they confirmed everything was fine on their side and they requested to speak to her. It was only after the call I made to Agoda that she stated that they had made a mistake on their side when they charged against my card, hence the funds didn't go through, what they were charging was not on the Agoda system. Mind you for the amount that was creating a mismatch, I had told them verbally and by text that I would settle on arrival, I also mentioned it on arrival that I had to settle an extra amount with them, but she was just to happy to tell me that the charge did not go through and I should pay them and sort my issue out with Agoda.

As if I hadn't realised it was going to be a tough night, I asked to borrow their iron as I was leaving at 6.30 the following morning, I was met with a cold response to say the cleaners only come in at 8 and they are the ones who keep the stuff.

The atmosphere was cold and...
