Awful communication, left waiting for an hour in what felt like the ghetto with dogs going mental outside and people who looked like junkies.||||We were asked to provide our arrival time which we did. The caretaker let us into our room which was fine but very compact and we were reluctant to open the curtains to the only window (including the bathroom) as outside did not feel safe. The fridge had leaked all over the floor. The bathroom was the most pleasant part - and everything was clean. There is no air con, but a fan (very low over the bed) and heating.||||He didn’t have our key so we waited, trying to call to get the key, for an hour. During that hour, 3 dogs at the house opposite were constantly barking and growling at everyone walking past. A young black boy also walked straight into our room (we couldn’t lock it because we didn’t have the key) asking if we’d seen his Grandma who turned out was Sharon the lady who services the rooms. ||||Eventually the owner arrived, apologised for everything. The 2 ladies and the caretaker were very pleasant but unfortunately it did little to rectify the first impression we had.||||Do not be fooled by the photos - what you cannot see is the rooms are extremely small and dark - bed pushed up to the window, a small cupboard for a wardrobe etc. Worst of all, the neighbourhood does not feel safe and the parking is not secure. At least there are bars and gates on all of the doors and windows - although that is worrying in itself to feel this is needed.||||During the stay, things worsened - no sound proofing at all - woken at 6am by noisy other guests and a horrible smell of smoking coming into our room.||||When they say "secure" parking - it is a bay on the roadside with a chain around the bottom of your car. No safety from people breaking the windows or cutting the chain and...
Read morePulling up to Faith, Hope and Love in a residential area of Port Elizabeth I was not sure what to expect inside the small hotel but we were thrilled with our room. We were greeted by the manager Sharon who was exceptionally welcoming and keen to provide any help we may need. Our room was beautifully maintained and decorated with brilliant facilities for cooking (microwave, conduction hob, kettle, fridge/freezer etc) including a pod-style coffee maker which I was thrilled by after a long day of driving.||||Our bathroom was huge, about the same size as the bedroom and included a large bath and separate shower. We were also given great mini toiletries including body lotion and nail files etc which is always a nice touch. There was a huge TV which could be moved on its wall mount to be viewed all around the room.||||The only downsides of the hotel were that the table provided was small and only one chair was provided, and the view from the window was into a yard (although there was a good wicker style cover outside for privacy which still let light in well). We had off-street parking although it was not gated. Safety certainly does not feel a problem inside though as there are additional metal gates...
Read moreIn as much as their rooms are presentable...lack of customer care lacks and overrides those stunning rooms. There have a room typed peace which has a tv not working and malfunctioning shower. The staff dont answer calls when you want to address issue.Even if you go to their reception they care less as they know the current situation. They make simple errors like wrong wifi password and you will spend more time going to reception as they dont answer their calls.I find this lack of customer care uncalled for considering their experience. No suggestion box or petty thing like apology from manager who will be phoned to address issue but only says the receptionist only should apologize...I had a terrified experience...shared it again with morning receptionist...asked to see manager but request was shot down...Hope and pray the management learns to take positive criticism as it will better...
