Hilo Guest House — Hotel in Emalahleni Local Municipality

We can not recommend the guesthouse:||1) Booking: We booked via booking.com, but the guesthouse was surprised when we arrived. ||2) Staff: We were standing in front of the gate for some time and nobody opened. When we tried to call to hotel, first nobody answered the phone. Only after calling the mobile number, finally a woman came and opened the door. She just walked past us without saying "hello" or even smiling and was later on also not friendly. ||3) Room: The bed and TV were OK, but the bathroom was not good. There is no shower, only a bath tub, which is not a problem. But the shower head was broken and there was only water out of the tap, which made taking a shower impossible! ||Also it is quite noisy, due to the proximity to the highway. ||3) Other: There is only one key for the front gate, so when you go out for dinner you can not open the gate on your own and again you need to call the mobile phone. We landed in Johannesburg and drove through to Emalahleni for the night. We only arrived at about 10pm, I booked a family room for 2 couples through safari now, we had a basic self catering apartment, 2 bedrooms, bathroom with a shower and a kitchen. The apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable. Nothing fancy but it was all we needed for a one...

Most horrible guest house ever!!! If it's not the water, it's the TV or electricity. The workers are very rude...
