Jay’s Guest House — Hotel in Emalahleni Local Municipality

I am very disappointed in the place. To start with, I booked two nights for work and messaged the owner/care taker to notify them on the time for check-in. I got no respond, I tried calling both numbers found on this platform and still could not win.

Knocked off around 17:00 and drove to the address, when I got there, the place was written Okuhle's guest house in stead of Jay's guest house. Well, I got in and asked if I'm lost, I was told I reached the right destination, however Jay will only take over from them in January 2023. I was then asked to cancel the booking so that I can get refunded. My details were jotted down and was promised to receive my refund within 7 days. That was on the 3rd December 2022, today is the 17th December 2022, nothing is received from them and there's no communication.

I ended up being asked to pay the overnight fare of R300, which then meant I paid 3 nights fare for 1 night.

The place is noisy, not clean and people kept on knocking on my door the whole night. I could sleep a blink.

I would not recommend this...

Unspeakable experience. Filthy place. Door & windows not properly installed. Our African brothers running the place...outside the yard, our South African sisters selling their bodies. On internet it's OLD NEW PICS. Will post a video. No breakfast, no microwave on the rooms, no aircon, no kettle - winter like this!!! Two Up North African brothers clued to their local young local girlfriends whilst at work. I asked them to come fix TV in my room...they still coming...

Very accommodating place to crash for a weekend...iloved the fact that the accommodation had 3 clean and neat bedrooms with own TV, shower and wifi in each room... and a beautiful kitchen that makes you feel at home. Keep up the Good work guys and thanks for making me, my mom and brother...
