Bosveld in die stad 2 Guesthouse — Hotel in Gauteng

I booked a one-night stay (1-2 March 2025) at this guesthouse with my family, drawn in by the positive reviews and accurate room photos. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, we found our room to be dusty and the sheets were stained.

When we brought this to the attention of the staff, they were initially defensive, claiming the stains were permanent marks rather than dirt. But eventually they changed the bedding, also addressing the dust issue. However, they neglected to clean the wardrobe, which was a concern for me given my white clothing.

To make matters worse, the main door didn't close properly, leaving a gap that allowed cold air in and likely contributed to my kids waking up with the flu the next morning.

Given that I booked two weeks in advance, I expected a clean and comfortable room. Sadly, our experience was a letdown, and I hope the guesthouse will take steps to improve their cleaning standards and...

I was the first two nights in a container like room with very poor floor insulation, and I was very cold during the night. I didn't sleep well at all. I don't like sleep with the air conditioning on. The second night I promised myself I would not make that mistake again and slept with air conditioning. Still, it was cold in bed. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the room was amazing, the back up generator during load shedding came in clutch and having power and wifi throughout made it am unforgettable experience. I will definitely be back in a week or so and it felt like a second home. The LED lighting outside at night carried a great ambiance, the air con is amazing for warmer days and everything else in between made so much sense.
