I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. ||||Day 1 of the stay...||When we checked in the receptionist was confused about our arrival but this could have been the loadshedding and their system was down. I initially booked in the beginning of December a cheaper room but upgraded the same day to have a livingroom space with a couch this room being the Double Chalet. Two days before my stay I messaged the hotel to confirm this but was given no reply. When I was shown the room I notice that there were labels above the door that said 'normal room' and there was not couch but a small one seat sofa. In the description on the Chalet it has a sleeper sofa. I went to speak to the receptionist and informed her that I specifically made an upgrade to the room to have a couch since this was my desire preference. The two women at the reception disregarded my booking by telling me that all the rooms are the same. I felt defeated by this since it was my first time at the place and did not know how the rooms worked and decided it was false advertising. My partner with me did not leave the situation unresolved and politely spoke to the receptionist about the situation, to which they responded by saying it was booking.com that didn't 'inform' them about the upgrade. My annoyance in all of this was when I spoke to them and showed them the proof of the upgrade they disregarded me by saying all the rooms are the same, so why in the world is there an upgrade option for their hotel. Nevertheless, they did upgrade us an hour later to the Executive Suit which did have a couch and a spa bath which was a bit more expensive then the room I wanted. BUT... around 22:00 on the night of checking in we get a call from another receptionist asking us to come downstairs. My partner dealt with the situation. The receptionist at 22:00 in the evening informed us that on their system we booked the Double Chalet (so booking.com did inform them), so why are we in the Executive Suit? We were then told to move into the Double Chalet in the morning. ||||Day 2 of the stay...||We moved to the Double Chalet in the afternoon not morning because the room was not ready. We were given breakfast but we couldn't eat any of the food which was my fault for not informing the stuff that we don't eat meat due to the run around and confusion. When we moved to the Double Chalet, guess what we got. That's right, NO COUCH. So, still false advertising. At this point I was done with the hotel. I did inform the receptionist that we don't eat meat and would like the breakfast but they should leave the sausage (meat) out.||||Day 3 of the stay....||No breakfast. We waited but nothing, maybe they forgot about us. But, we shouldn't inform the host that we are still at their hotel, after all we been talking to them.||||Day 4 of the stay...||No breakfast again. I honestly gave up at the point. ||||Day 5 of the stay (Christmas day)... last day||The staff remembered we were there, I think? We got breakfast this time but with meat, they were kind enough to make the breakfast again but with egg. Also, the receptionist called our room to inform us that we HAVEN'T been staying at the hotel. So, they forgot we were there, even though we kept ordering food and had to pass and ask the receptionists to open for us. When we checked out the receptionist said that we didn't pay for the stay and asked where and when we booked the place. They were quite hesitant to let us go even though they forgot we existed.||||This was suppose to be a budgeted anniversary week and a week to relaxation. The false advertising didn't help the situation. The amenities that were promised and advertised didn't even exist. The staff did not communicate with each other and we were treated poorly. ||Also, I didn't get the COUCH I paid extra money for. ||||It was definitely an experience that I will...
