My recent stay at a supposedly four-star hotel left me thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied. From the moment I stepped into the room, it became clear that the establishment was far from deserving of the rates they charged, which were more in line with those of a four-star hotel.||||Firstly, the coffee provided in the room was nothing short of rubbish. Its taste was unpalatable, and it seemed like a mere afterthought rather than a thoughtful addition to the amenities. For a "hotel" that claims to provide a comfortable stay, the lack of attention to even the simplest of details was concerning.||||Furthermore, the building and furnishings were old and dilapidated. It felt like stepping into a time warp, with worn-out carpets, creaking floors, and dated décor. The overall ambiance was far from inviting or cozy, and it left a lot to be desired in terms of comfort and aesthetics.||||To make matters worse, the air conditioning system was out of order during my stay. Given the cold weather outside, this was an enormous inconvenience and made the room uncomfortable. The lack of proper maintenance and attention to such essential amenities was frustrating and unacceptable.||||Lastly, the presence of mold in the shower was a major concern for hygiene and cleanliness. It was clear that the housekeeping staff had neglected this crucial aspect, and it left me feeling uneasy about the overall cleanliness of the establishment.||||In conclusion, my experience at this two-star guesthouse was far from satisfactory. The quality of the coffee, the state of the building and furnishings, the malfunctioning air conditioning, and the presence of mold all contributed to an underwhelming stay. Considering the exorbitant rates charged, this "hotel" fails to meet even the basic expectations of a four-star accommodation. Truly a terrible stay. We were stuffed into a tiny room right off the main entrance and restaurant, before one even gets to reception, directly adjacent to a busy and extremely noisy street, and had cars rushing past blaring music until well after 22h00. The "view" from our "garden room" was of the generator right next to the room, and of the trash behind the generator. The shower leaked massively, so that the entire bathroom was tranformed into a pond that we had to wade through in the middle of night. At 5 months pregnant, I made a numer of hugely uncomfortable trips to the soaking bathroom, each time trudging water back into the room from my own en-suite pond. Please note, this was a full price room, not some knock-off special rate for bargain hunters....
