On a chilly day, the last thing I felt like doing was standing outside making a braai, but my craving for perfectly grilled meat wasn’t going away. That’s when we decided to give Pepper Chair a try — and it turned out to be exactly what I needed.

We ordered the meat platter for two, and from the first bite, it hit all the right notes. The meat was juicy, tender, and bursting with flavour, clearly prepared with care and seasoned to perfection. Each cut was cooked just right — no dryness, no over-charring, just that satisfying, smoky taste that instantly reminded me of a great braai, minus the effort and cold weather. The variety on the platter kept things exciting, and it was generous enough that we both left feeling full and happy.

The atmosphere at Pepper Chair is warm and inviting, making it a great place to settle in and enjoy a hearty meal. It’s the kind of spot that works equally well for a casual date night or a gathering with friends and family. Service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall experience.

What really stood out was how well Pepper Chair delivered on flavour and portion size without any fuss. I walked in craving braai meat and left with that craving fully satisfied — and a newfound appreciation for their menu.

If you’re in the mood for delicious, well-prepared meat dishes without the hassle of cooking it yourself, Pepper Chair’s meat platter for two is a must-try. It’s comfort food, quality cooking, and good vibes all in one. I’ll definitely be heading back,...

A place I regularly go to as a treat for many years.

Today was a huge disappointment.

And nothing is more disappointing than a manager who can turn the situation around who just stands there without a clue or any wish on how to do so.

People around me received menus but my table obviously belonged to another waiter and they were not going to help him out by giving me a menu. So I waited..

I waited for my drink afterwards.. Slow service even though the restaurant was empty.

When the food came the onion rings were missing because the oil wasn't switched on in time.

The meat was substandard. I always order the meat platter. Have they changed there supplier to save cost? The drumsticks were tiny and precooked to a crisp. Inedible! The rump was served blue/raw. I asked for medium. The ribs were tiny.

So I had a piece of rubbery wors with my cold pap and frozen sauce!

Eventually the meat arrived back with the onion rings after I have finished my meal.

There was just no way they wanted to serve me a good meal today in exchange for my good money.

The most frustrating feeling is when the manager has no clue on how to make the situation better.

Won't...

This used to be one of my favorite pubs to go in the past but after last night, it will not see me again. They were famous for their food, all prepared on a braai. Arrived last night, see the braai and super excited for a steak and braaibroodjie. Ordered my steak medium and then the wait started. When the food arrived it reminded me of my boarding school days. The steak well done with basting here and there. Grill in the kitchen, did not see any fire to give it that smoky flavor. The braaibroodjie was a glorified toasty, was so far away from a braai it does not deserve the name. When I confronted the waiter, his excuse was it was loadshedding and he could not see how cooked the steak was...I still had to pay for this though. The service was very slow. No music playing in the background. This was really a sad experience...from where it was to what I experienced yesterday...I will not visit again. They lost their...

We enjoyed an excellent family dinner at Pepper Chair Restaurant while our vehicle was being washed next door. Meals ranged from R100–R150, and we ordered a wide variety of dishes to cater to our large meeting. Every plate was fresh, full of flavor, and generously portioned — there was even plenty left over for the next morning. The food quality was truly exceptional, leaving a lasting positive impression. The service matched the high standard of the meal — attentive, friendly, and efficient — while the warm, inviting atmosphere made the setting perfect for a relaxed yet lively gathering. Reservations weren’t required, which made planning effortless, and the restaurant comfortably accommodated a group of nine and more. Pepper Chair Restaurant is ideal for both intimate dinners and larger get-togethers alike.

The nachos with chicken pieces was smothered in sauce unnecessarily, as there is guacamole, sour cream, salsa and melted cheese already. The extra sauce just made the nachos soggy and unpleasant. The salsa wasn't great either. In terms of atmosphere, I'm sure at other times it's great, but our experience was beside a table where a drunk man was extremely loud and swearing incessantly. Our waiter TK was very good though.
