Koi Inn Bnb — Hotel in Gauteng

Absolutely disappointed with the place and the how the owners handle situations.

My siblings and I booked our parents in for 2 days while we had booked ourself at another beautiful place that unfortunately didn't allow our little puppy so we had to book a pet friendly place for them.

I called Janine prior to booking and specifically asked if It was actually pet friendly as mentioned on booking.com and Janine was extremely friendly and helpful, she spoke in a respectful manner and promised that she would accommodate our puppy hence we booked the place.

My parents got there only to be told the room they booked is not pet friendly and they had to then move them around and try and sort things out...after I specifically called before booking to make sure it's pet friendly. Nonetheless... my parents checked in around 3pm and waited for us as we were driving from dullstroom to them, we reached them at 6pm which means they were only on the property for 3 hours, during which they did not cook or use much of the facilities. Upon arrival the bed had stains, table had stains, place looked untidy and the hot tub had to be filled through a window with a hose pipe, also which looked very dirty so there was no way we were gonna ever use that. Sorry but if that was our place we would have never given it to people to stay in when it's dirty.

When we got there we looked around and were not happy, after speaking to our parents they also said they weren't happy but since we booked it they didn't want to complain... we were not going to let our parents stay in that filthy place so we spoke to the manager and asked her to speak to Janine for a refund so that we could look for a place we were happy with or just go home, Janine refused a refund without even speaking to us.

We then personally called her and she already had a very defensive tone, shouted and refused that the place was anything that we are saying, she then said she will not refund us and we can go sort it out with whoever we want to and she cut our call and never communicated to us afterwards.

Pathetic customer care, they are obviously all about money, we didn't stay over but they refuse to refund us, honestly this is the first place we are this disappointed with hence we are complaining to this extent. I would like to add that everyone that is complaining are people that were on the property and we have seen the place and none of this is made up, my family has given reviews because we were all there and witnessed this.

Also there is no security at all on the property, a lady managers the place and everytime you need to go in and out you need to call her, she has to then open the gate for you so you don't even have access to open and close the gate to the place which is actually dangerous since you need to park and wait outside in the dark until you call her to open. Outside has no lights at all as well. People that came in with us also made comments about how the place didn't look like what they thought it was but they should speak for themselves if they want to. I'm speaking for myself and what I've seen and dealt with. The place also stinks!!! And it definitely wasn't in the air because just 2 minutes away from the actual place, we could breathe... we got there and we had to spray perfume to just try and breathe.

After all of our complaints, the owner calls us and threatens us to take down the reviews or else he would act... well, sir... please act! Start by making your property a decent place as advertised... trust me it will be worth much more than the time you're wasting trying to threaten us. We have nothing to lose, you have already refused to refund us so go enjoy what we paid and never got to make use of. We hope it was worth it.

My weekend getaway with my family was outstanding at this hidden gem. Although we arrived just after dark and got a bit lost trying to find the place Andre was constantly on the phone checking on us until we arrived. The birthday surprise for my husband that Andre arranged at very short notice I might add blew the whole family away n they have not stopped talking about it. The goody tray was the cherry on top. The room and yhe facilities in the yard were exactly what we were looking. Farmstyle and away from the hustle of busy Jhb. Andre was even on call when we urgently needed meds for my husband in the wee hours of the morning. I means he even offered to stay way longer than check out time for my husband to catch up on some lost sleep from the previous night. The man even carried our bags to the car as my hubby couldn’t. Andre you were absolutely awesome and will definitely be sharing this experience with all my fam n friends. My kids are fussy but they absolutely enjoyed every minute.
