I booked a room and from the moment I arrived, the host was giving off bad energy. I asked for the keys to my room so I could lock my belongings away incase I wanted to leave the room for some time and he refused to give them to me stating he would lock and open the room for me everytime I needed to access it. he went on to say, in the case I wanted to leave the lodge for any reason I would have to be back by 9pm that night or else he would lock me out.this obviously didn't make sense because I paid for the room in full. His explanation was they don't give gate keys to people sleeping over night. He decided to finally give me a room key and after an hour my girlfriend and I got hungry and decided to go out and get food.he went on to tell me about his 9pm rule again, we kindly asked if 10 pm would be too late so he decided to raise his voice at me. I asked him to point out where this 9pm closing time rule was stated but obviously their website did note state this. Iv stayed at plenty lodges and the idea that I have to be back befor 9pm is unheard of. The host has zero people skills, the sheets had marks on them, the bedding was torn, the TV was broken and there was no soap in my room. I demanded my money back and didn't stay the night.. I rate it my worst hospitality...
Read moreOh well, this is one reveiw that is going to be a bit tricky, The service was excellent, the gentleman we met up with is very friendly, was able to assist anytime. Location perfect, structure is good, I get the whole concept of Mzansi Rock as the lodge is built on the rocks, believe you me, the rooms are very spacious, but wow the linen, it needs to be changed. New linen please. We complained about the night frill, and you can tell it has been years it has not been changed. The dust, had to point out areas the house keeping lady misses. I think the owner will have to visit and supervise house keeping because, she does not dust in the dinning area, cob webs in the corners, curtains need to be washed, the curtains in the passage needs to be changed Aiybo kuningi. Would be nice to have the TV's changed, The bar area has so much potential outside, but it has been neglected. And the place needs to be repainted outside. I think Mzansi lodge has a lot of potential, but hygiene is lacking abit, and the long staying patrons are not helping by leaving the kitchen like it was a war zone, The common fridge needs to be cleaned as well. Our 5 days stay went well, Would I come back.? Not sure...
Read moreHad a terrible stay, Which was surprising after all of the Great reviews.Myself and 3 colleagues stayed for 2 night ||||1) The toilet was leaking when I arrived, the bathroom floor was flooded, the owners said they would just put towels down. I was not going to walk on toilet water towels. So insisted they move me. ||2) Their family decided to come visit and stayed up until the late hours. When 22:30 came and they were playing soccer outside my window and shouting, no one answered the Guest houses phone and I left a message, no response. ||I called my manager whom was waved off when she confronted them ||3) The next morning, there was someone sleeping on the couch with their disgustingly smelly shoes lying across the lounge. ||4) A full english breakfast consisted of 2 fried eggs on a plate. Toast and cereal was available to serve yourself, but no Macon, sausages, mushrooms, or anything to add to this huge plate with just 2 fried eggs on it. ||||Sincerely Disgusted...
