A truly wonderful experience where the staff go above and beyond. The food is tasty, healthy and you receive a 3-course meal for breakfast and dinner. The chefs speak to you daily about your meal preferences and allowing for a personalized touch. The room is big & luxurious with a walk-in shower, bath, tv, bar fridge, kettle and very comfortable king-size bed. The staff are friendly and incredibly accommodating for requests like dinner on your patio, with a personalized fire area made to your comfort. Game drives are for your own account & leave 3 times daily allowing for flexibility. A note for guests who want a quiet and relaxing experience, young children are welcome at the lodge and often join in game drives and common areas at the lodge. You can request an adults only drive. The game ranger is knowledgeable and makes you feel safe at all times during the drive which ranges between 2 - 3 hours long including a “phuza” break. My wife and I cannot recommend this lodge enough and will be returning with our children and parents.

Simply put: OUTSTANDING! What an amazing lodge that is beautifully presented and comfortable. Timothy (Chef), Precious (Housekeeper) and Lovemore (Guide) are the true credit to the lodge and welcome you with warm open arms. The views are stunning and each lodge is comfortable, modern with rustic styled. The main lodge is relaxing and a shared space that never feels too small or over used, perfect for evenings reviewing your drive finds or puzzles with a wine. Annelize (Owner) always gave clear and informed information prior to arrival with great connections provided by Graham. Her care for the team radiated through and clearly proud of the service they provide. I would urge anyone who is considering to book immediately, a great find and a step above the other local lodges providing an intimate and warm stay. Thank you to each and everyone of the team, we haven't stopped telling everyone of our stay and can't wait to come back soon! Jason and Adam

Our family had an unforgettable stay at Ngala Lodge in South Africa. Having visited several lodges in Africa, this one truly stands out. The food was delicious, the grounds were stunning, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We stayed in the three-bedroom house, which was modern, cozy, and perfect for us, with a private pool and a firepit for relaxing evenings. Zebras and kudus visiting the garden made the experience even more magical! Whether you're traveling as a family, couple, or with friends, Ngala Lodge has the perfect accommodation for everyone. It’s a warm and welcoming home away from home. We can’t recommend it enough and will definitely return on our next trip to South Africa!

Had a two day weekend

Not plenty of game to site, but quality sighting (Lion, Elephant, Hyena, and one of the other big five that isn't a Leopard or a Buffalo, quite a few of them)-not just eight thousand elephants like in Kruger always.

Guide was very knowledgeable, kind, and polite - Lovemore

The house team is incredibly attentive. There are three assistants at the house, one chef and two helpers. I can't spell their names but they were awesome (Mino, Timo, and Precious). The rooms are spotless and the place is very clean. Food is prepared well, timeously and delicious. Team cleans up shortly after as well so very luxurious to not have to lift a dish.

The feel of the place is very authentic bush, screeded concrete walls and floors, plenty of light and windows and open plan (well done architects). Rooms are amazing and warm, plenty of space, en suite bathrooms. Rooms were warm without heating in winter so that was nice.

Game vehicles very well kept.

Honestly a higher recommendation I cannot give-really is worth the money even though pricey a bit. The proximity to JHB is way more convenient than Kruger.

The owner also called to ensure we were having a good time which was nice

Literally can't say one bad thing! Impressed, would recommend and...
