Purple Olive Guest House — Hotel in Gauteng

You get what you pay for... Or almost. We had to wait for an hour and forty minutes after the scheduled check in time for the room to be ready. There is no aircon as promised on the website. The TV does not work, it keeps on saying the software has to be updated. The toilet door does not close, there is no light fitting in the bathroom. The bathroom ceiling urgently needs to be painted. The view from my room is of an old mattress on the driveway. To get from my room to the pool you have to walk past a load of junk strewn about. There are two beds in the room but the one is left bare and unmade. The shower uses a poorly maintained gas geyser, wich you have to run at a trickle to get any warmth in the water. We has to attend a function and had to phone to get someone to open the gate so we could get back into the premises. Noisy, you can hear everything in the neighbors rooms, little privacy from staff I.e walking in when curtains and door is closed without knocking, lights not working, no communication from staff after requesting an early breakfast, before and after we checked in. Stay away place is dirty poorly maintained even after informing our Arrival time we had to wait more than half an hour so they could ( clean) the room. This after waiting 15 Min at reception to be helped. There was paring by other guests till past 22h00 with loud music drinking and shouting. The walls is full of grime.
