Afri Eco Resorts - Wilderness — Hotel in George

My husband and I recently stayed at Afri Eco Resort to celebrate his birthday, and as avid "glampers," we have experienced various resorts. However, I must say that Afri Eco Resort has exceeded all our expectations and stands out as the best one yet.

First and foremost, cleanliness and organization were impeccable. The resort was spotless, and everything was well-maintained. They truly had thought of everything one could possibly need during their stay, including electric blankets on each bed, which was a delightful surprise.

The layout of the resort was well-planned, with the kitchen and bathroom located separately from the tents. Although they were a few meters away, it was still very convenient. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a breathtaking sunset and the enchanting sight of two zebras, which added a touch of magic to our experience.

One of the highlights of our stay was the hot tub. It was already fired up when we arrived, and it only took a short hour before it was ready for us to enjoy. The fact that the resort is completely off the grid meant we didn't have to worry about any power outages, which can sometimes be a hassle.

While the Wi-Fi was available, the signal was limited. At first, I was concerned about this, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. In today's world, we are often too engrossed in our phones, lacking genuine conversations and missing out on the beauty around us. The limited signal allowed us to disconnect from the digital world and truly appreciate the breathtaking natural surroundings that Afri Eco Resorts has to offer. It was a refreshing change and a reminder of the wonders of nature.

Afri Eco Resort also provided excellent amenities for families. They had an honesty kiosk stocked with all the necessary items, as well as slides, swimming pools, and a fantastic play area for the kids. Additionally, they set up a large screen by the swimming pool where they screened a movie in the evening, which was a delightful surprise for all guests.

5 whole stars to Afri Eco Resorts in Knysna.

We booked the 5 sleeper tent, it was fully kitted with everything including electric blankets, clean towels etc.

Your kitchen, shower and toilets are a few feet away but not shared, also kitted with everything even a little hairdryer.

The deck is massive and has a wood fired tub which takes about 1h30 mins to heat up (we visited during winter so we wanted the water hot) and oooh what a treat.

It rained throughout the one night and although we could hear the rain failing it was warm and cosy, no leaks at all.

The swimming pool had a few slides and my daughter had a blast, not to mention the playground for kids!

They also have a little store on the premises that sells a few basic things such as wood.

A special mention to the caretaker on duty who was super helpful with everything.

Definitely worth a visit, with or without kids,...

From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The host is absolutely fantastic—warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. She made sure everything was perfect for our stay.

We stayed in the permanent tent setup, which was spotless, spacious, and completely weatherproof—giving us the perfect blend of comfort and adventure.

Our weekend was packed with sunshine, relaxation, and endless fun! From thrilling water slides to soothing hot tubs, an outdoor movie under the stars, and even a refreshing downpour that added to the experience, every moment was magical.

This was the perfect escape from the daily hustle, and with it being so close to George, it's an easy getaway for anyone in the area.
