Me and my partner had to go to Oudtshoorn for business. We arrived there on short notice. The owners Hermien and her husband went out of their way to assist us.

In the morning you go for breakfast Hermien will come to you ask you what you want for breakfast then it gets prepared so you do not get cold food.

The fruit juice are freshly prepared. You can taste the difference. She go out of her way. The same with her husband he makes sure if you need to use the braai facilities you have everything.

They even go to point that they send you whatsapp when it is load shedding. Then to top it all, the Tv's, Wifi, Microwave, Lights still work during load shedding. Halfway through the trip we had to move to other guest house due to bookings and we made bookings a evening before we arrived.

They made all the arrangements for other guest house. Even offer to move our bags to the new guest house due to our working commitments.

After arriving at the new guest house we established there is no braai facilities they borrowed us a braai, bucket, and braai utensils without thinking twice about it. Giving strangers a cooler bag and all the above things so we are sorted out while we stay in Oudtshoorn .

If you ever go for vacation or business trip and you want to feel welcome, at home. You want to be treated like a king then you book at Karoo Sun Guest house. I have never in my life experience such service in any guest house while on business trips. The rooms are clean. The food is out of this world.

This place according to me is the best guest house experience you will ever get in South Africa. It is based on service and the whole experience a 10 star guest house and BEST GUEST HOUSE IN SOUTH AFRICA.

Money more than well spend. You get guest houses. Then you get the top dog guest house namely Karoo Sun Boutique Guest house.

AVOID AT ALL COST. If I could give 0 I would, this guesthouse left me and my family stranded on the evening of our checkin, we had let them know we were running late well in advance and they decided to close all the doors and not answer their phones.

They made no calls or mention of the fact they close their doors at 6pm (?!) We were in contact during the day over whatsapp and text messages and I received nothing, (I have submitted these logs in full to the booking site against this place).

They were very prompt to take the money from my account. And have yet to return it. I was shocked to find they had blocked me on whatsapp the next morning instead of apologising when I had sent them a photo of my family stranded outside their doors that night. We were in a foreign town with nowhere else to go.

I would expect a minimal level of due care and responsibility from people in the hospitality industry. To add insult to injury they told the booking site I was a 'no show'. And they refuse to return the money paid.

This not a way to run a business, unprofessional and unethical.

They have threatened me in private with baseless legal action for leaving a review, so that I do not warn others....

When it comes to criticism, I am the worst and I make it known that I am disappointed. My initial thought was, looking at the website, that its too good to be true. False advertisement has been a problem for me more than once, where the place and / or its facilities are not nearly as nice as in the pictures. But from my first step across the threshold, I have not been able to find even the smallest problem. Rooms are amazing, air conditioned, super clean. Staff doing what needs to be done when needed, not having the need to lock away valuables, top notch breakfast as per request and simple things from like arranging a pedicure at an hours' notice to allowing my kids, whom I am visiting in town, to use the pool during a hot day. Also kiddies entertainment ideas for a visitor like myself.
