Makarios On Sea — Hotel in George

We stayed in the Seagull Suite for 5 nights and it was amazing !!|As part of my husbands 60th Birthday present, we had spent 4 nights in Cape Town, 4 Nights at the Garden Route Game lodge(which was also amazing) and we decided for the last leg of our adventure we wanted to relax at the beach....we were not disappointed.|As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Antoinette the owner of the property, what an amazing lady she is, so welcoming and helpful, she quickly showed us around the apartment and let us check in early.|The apartment is well appointed and has everything that you need and has wonderful views of the beautiful beach and the ocean from every room, everywhere was spotlessly clean, thanks to Cynthia.|You could not be any closer to the beach if you tried, you step out of the apartment across a tiny access road and you are straight onto the pristine Blue Flag Beach.|There is a tidal poll for those that are not to adventurous to play in the roaring surf, and there were lifeguards on had too.|There were beach chairs, sun/beach umbrellas, bodyboards, bat and ball sets, and other beach toys in the garage that we were free to use while staying there|Falling asleep to the roar of the ocean was beautiful and it was a perfect end to our South African Adventure.|Once again, a massive THANK YOU Antoinette, you are a super star and i hope we are able to visit you again in the future.||Much love to you and Cynthia||Heather...

I'm giving a little shoutout to this Gem of a place. I appreciate the value of a true beach vacation more as I get older, the kind where you lay that body down on a lounge chair for a week straight & pig out on ice cream and braaivleis. I Love staying at Makarios, here you truly recharge your batteries, the tranquility works wonders ... High five to Antoinette for making sure that the accommodation goes above and beyond a person's expectation, attention to every detail, TOP quality linen, amenities like dishwashers so you don't spend too much time in the kitchen, you'll find all the basics and more, from shortbread, bottled water and aircons.. will be back later the year again for a memorable...

We booked a studio room with seaview, balcony and large double bed. We received a room that was locarted on the side of the building, limited seaview as you had to look through the two buildings to have a glomse of teh sea, and with 2 single beds which is actually for children. Our confirmation letter confirmed our booking and facilities, the host did nothing to assist us, The entire place as also not fully occupied for the duration of the stay, so it was possible to provide us with teh correct rooms, even if it emant that we had to move between rooms.
