What can we say? This is the best Guest House we have ever visited. We arrived early but this did not cause a problem and we were given a cooling drink while we completed the registration forms. On being led through the lobby onto the terrace we were greeted by an absolutely stunning view. The dining terrace spread the length of the guest house, below this was an infinity pool, which looked as if it tumbled into the landscape. We have never been lost for words but during the two days we stayed we could not get enough of that view. Our room was very well presented and had an outside area with table and chairs in which we could relax and enjoy the view. We ate in the restaurant both days and were impressed with the menu and presentation of the dishes. Each meal we had was delicious and we would recommend their ostrich steaks, after all it is a working ostrich farm. Mooiplaas offers trips of the ostrich farm and we were keen to look around and booked a trip. Koos the guide introduced himself to us and explained how the farm worked but during our conversation it became obvious that a car was required for the visit unfortunately we did not have one so it looked like our trip would not happen. Koos saw the disappointment on our faces and said perhaps we could do the trip another way. He was an excellent guide and it did not matter that our trip was shortened due to our lack of transport. We still visited the pens and the hatchery and saw the baby chicks. It was a fascinating tour, very informative and interesting. Thank you Koos. We would highly recommend the Mooiplaas and certainly will visit again when we come over from the UK, next...

The rooms were very big but smelled not too good. Bed was nice tho. The location was OK. I mean it’s in the middle of nowhere but directly next to a road which I find weird. Also there are no places to eat nearby except for the restaurant in the hotel which isn’t good except for the meat which comes from the barbecue , especially the ostrich. The ostrich farm tour which can be booked via the hotel is very good and should you definitely experience. The guide is also the barbecue master and is an absolute legend.

Than the ostrich in the room, the service. I guess you’ll either love it or hate it. For me it’s the latter. They are very energetic and hyped. Calling you by your first name added Mr or Mrs and hyping everything such as the cake during breakfast. That’s all fine and well but they often do this hype talking in stead of bringing food or drinks which I don’t find very productive. They make the same joke at every guest, which you hear 10 times if you are early at breakfast. Also most people who come here are Dutch which they speak (which is my native language) which is a bit eerie. It’s quite...

Mooiplaas is a stunning venue for a clean, crisp peaceful getaway.  The views overlooking the orange skyline and Ostriches doing their thing was, Oh so lovely!! The place is well managed and the staff are a friendly bunch of good old happy country folk. Nothing was ever too much. The food was delicious and fresh fruits and vegetables were delivered everyday.  The rooms are old but neat. The wooden floors give the place a vintage feel.  The old brown  wall to wall carpet was not great but the beautiful rugs thrown over it made is bearable. They have some good quality books to read and enjoy. The breakfast and dinner menu was on point👌🏾👌🏾. I loved the home baked bread 😋 😋. The breakfast box prepared before my 5am-120km ride was excellent! It was prepared excavtly As I had requestes.  I have already booked for my next trip😍😍. I loved seeing the stuff happy and enjoying their work. It’s always a good sign when staff enjoy what they do. I think I might have made a friend or two. The curio shop is interesting and the service at the Spa was… you guessed it, Oh...

I loved staying at Mooiplaas. One of my favourite places I stayed at in South Africa. The staff is soooo nice! Especially the waiters in the morning and evening are most welcoming, respectful, friendly, etc, etc. They made us feel super welcome. The ostrich farm tour the Guest House offers is definitely worth it! You'll learn so much about the ostriches and it'll be in a small group. The tour guide knows so much and can answer all of your questions. I learned so much during the tour. I would choose this tour over a show farm any day. The guide will also be chef if you decide to have dinner at the guest house, which is pretty cool. The dinner is absolutely to die for! I have never had ostrich in my life and it tasted amazing. On the side were some lovely potatoes and veggies. The desserts were also very nice. Do eat here at least one night while you're staying at the guest house. The rooms are also very beautiful. Comfy beds and even a bath!
