Lodge Azure — Hotel in Hibiscus Coast Local Municipality

My experience of Lodge Azure. Was overall good, but there are some areas where it can improve.

Let's first talk about the good. Rooms are amazing. The garden was impeccable. It's a great place for little ones. There's a pool, and you get your little own braai area. The cleaning service cleaned the room every day. Even the braai.

Okay, let's go onto the bad. The parking for everyone on the right side. The parking space provided is very cramp and tight. My neighbor ended up hitting his car. If you have a sedan, please be careful.

Wifi. Okay, I am well aware that when making a booking, it says wifi unavailable. Once i arrived, they said there was wifi. Only for me to be let down in my room with no wifi.

Noise. Im not too sure if the lodge has a quiet time, but some nights, it felt like that answer was,no. Im well aware we are all on holiday, but to be honest, I don't want to be hearing music till 10 30 at night them at 11 a couple screaming at each at the top of their lungs.

The road to the lodge. At the end of the day, this isn't the lodge fault but the governments. Once you hope off the main road towards Lodge Azure, be prepared it is a dirt road all the way to the lodge.

The property is not secure AT ALL. Our unit and several others were broken into. Chances are if you sit at your porch or by the pool someone will be helping themselves to your valuables. Bags with bank cards and IDs were stolen. The incident was reported to reception. They seemed to want to assist originally but they ended up being VERY RUDE even giving us a problem giving us the security deposit back. The staff is VERY RUDE, very untrustworthy. Unfortunately due to the theft there our accounts were cleaned out. Funny enough, no phones were stolen only bank cards and IDs which made it seem like an inside job. I was there ONE night and REGRET IT.

In terms of the place it’s small with small single beds. The description mentioned sleeper couch, there aren’t any sleeper couches. The television in our unit was not working. The place may look nice but it’s not safe rather book somewhere with more security and safety with nice staff.

I would like to recommend this self-catering accommodation if you are planning to spend some time off along the south coast around Port Edward. The place is very clean and beautiful with friendly staff, including the security guard ubaba uKhumalo, who was very helpful. We spent x2 days, and it was great even though we didn't spend much time at the place during the day because we arrived late and left very early the next day for church service in Bizana.
