Weekend escape at the Edwardian Hotel, Port Edward @Premier Hotels & Resorts šŸŒŠšŸŒžšŸŒ“ We enjoyed a delicious meal at the on-site Mariner Restaurant, where every dish is locally sourced and full of flavor Took in the magic of Splash Rock🐟🌊 a 5 minute drive - a favorite fishing and photo-worthy spot šŸ˜ And for a night out? @wildcoastsunresort is also just a 5 minute drive, packed with entertainment for the entire family. Whether you're in town for work or play, the Edwardian Hotel @premierhotels is the perfect spot on the KZN South Coast. #edwardianhotel #premierresortsandhotels #portedward #southcoast #wildcoastsun #travelsa #kzngetaway #travel #hajirakhota

This was definitely not what I expected from a premier hotel. The staff were nice and friendly, from the security guard to the receptionist to the lady in the restaurant. The place has great potential it just needs a bit of a TLC. - Towels had stains I ended not using them, - Bathtub had stains in it that made me feel uncomfortable bathing in it, the stopper was rusted and had some buildup, I only washed because I was exhausted and my body was aching so I needed a bath. - The bed made me miss my own bed. - some other things I've seen but I'm too exhausted to write down. The room was not really bad though and I liked that there was a balcony with a nice view.

I was unfortunate enough to be booked in at the Edwardian in Port Edward for 4 nights this week for business. While the room I was in ( seemingly from the rental stock) was adequate there were too many small errors that demonstrated inadequate maintenance and attention.... a broken door bolt that allowed the door to rattle in the wind, not all the tv channels were tuned in, broken toilet seat, no tv guide and no Wi-Fi in this day and age is a shocker. The buildings are undergoing maintenance but to have your guests and residents having to walk across incomplete trenches and in extremely poorly lit stair cases is an OHS disaster. There are seemingly also no downpipes and when it rains the noise of the falling streams of water onto hard paving is deafening in the rooms. The worst however is the food. Very limited selection on the menu, repetition of the same food day after day (e.g. mushroom soup as repeated soup of the day, same vegetables for the first two days buffet when the menu was not offered), Poor quality meat, limited selection of drinks (no sparkling water for 2 days untill I insisted they get some for me, limited sugar free selection), an incredibly long wait to get ones food, poor almost non existent service.( several times I had get up to go to the waitresses to get service and place orders). Tonight there was smoke billowing out of the kitchen into the dining area....I will insist that the travel agent never books me...

Disappointing Stay – Not Up to 3-Star Standards

My family and I recently stayed at the Edwardian Hotel, Port Edward and were thoroughly disappointed with our experience. • Grounds and Maintenance: The hotel’s exterior, including the grounds and driveways, appeared neglected and poorly maintained, giving an overall impression of neglect. • Outdated Website Photos: The images on the hotel’s website are outdated and don't accurately represent the current state of the property. • Restaurant Experience: The restaurant lacked many of the meals listed on the menu, and during our stay, we did not observe any other guests dining there, which was concerning. • Value for Money: Considering the subpar conditions and services, the rates charged were unjustifiably high, offering poor value for money. • Staff Unfriendliness: The staff were unwelcoming and unhelpful, which further detracted from our stay. • Unannounced Name Change: We were surprised to discover upon arrival that the hotel had undergone a name change, and we were not notified in advance, leading to confusion - previous name when we booked was ā€˜Splendid Inn Hotel’. • Star Rating Concerns: Given these issues, I believe the hotel’s 3-star rating should be reevaluated, as it does not meet the expected standards for such a rating.

Our experience aligns with other guest reviews highlighting similar concerns. I hope the management addresses these issues promptly to improve the...

My family and I decided to spend our Christmas differently for 2021 and booked in at this resort/Chalet H4, which was a 3 bedroom self catering apartment. The condition of this apartment did not match to the photos posted on Facebook. This apartment was very poorly maintained. One could see that the owner of this apartment was out to make a quick buck instead of granting customer satisfaction. The very first day we were there the plumbing in one of the bathrooms gave way and when we tried to get a hold of the owner, she never responded to our calls. On contacting the owners maid who initially opened up the apartment for us, she promised to get a plumber out. A couple of minutes later the owner called and spoke to my wife and told us that she is in Durban and unfortunately can't make it to come down and sort the problem. She suggested that we push back the waste water pipe into the basin sink and all should be well. This didn't work. So my brother and I went and got some repair material and managed to rectify the problem. The owner for the duration of our stay never called to establish if all was well. This particular apartment has no air-conditioning and the 4 out of the 5 days we spent there it rained heavily. The humidity in the apartment was unbearable and on attempting to open the windows and balcony doors we were bombarded by insects. It was one of the worst vacations I'd...
