My Den Beachfront Bed and Breakfast | Self-Catering — Hotel in Hibiscus Coast Local Municipality

Worst experience ever. One of the rooms didn't have water, complained and the lady told me she checked it has water. But theres never water in the mornings and night in some of the rooms upstairs. The lights were going off around the exact same time every night (i was there for two weeks) as if the place is timed to save electricity. Could have been coincidental loadshedding, doubt it. The ladies that clean there are amazing, very friendly. You just have to double check though if the cleaning was done properly, make sure they put in fresh towels. Had to ask many times for air freshener because the room i was in the toilet just smelled funny. They went in and sprayed the air fresher but didn't wanna leave me one in the room. Weird. Owner seems very stingy, can treat you like you're staying there by favor. Either than that, I enjoyed the pool and the people I was with made the whole experience bearable. We booked suite no 4 (the family suite upstairs) and got suite no 3 at My Den in Port Shepstone.||To make sure we got the room we wanted, we emailed the hotel several times. ||All seemed well when our booking seemed acknowledged. But upon arrival we were not expected, and the room we wanted was occupied. It turned out that we were booked for a wrong date. ||Furtermore the presence of a big white dog was an unpleasant experience. It barked quite frequently and pissed at our car. ||The air conditioning in the room worked quite well and the view from the balcony was stunning. The garden is well maintained and looks nice. ||A strange thing though: the room can occupy 4 people, there is a well equiped kitchen but no dining table or chairs to sit on. ||Although there is a sign at the desk stating that smoking is not allowed, we smelled cigarette smoke in the bath room from time to time. It came clearly from another part of the building where someone was puffing...

I had checked in on 14 December 2023 and will never recommend it to anyone. The lady owner had requested I check in earlier on the day because after 18:00, there's no one at the reception. I obliged, got my room and the keys. During the day the lady owner called to inform me that they were reallocating me another room without providing any reason , again I obliged. Later ,another call informs me that instead of giving me a restaurant voucher , they were going to prepare me their own supper. I obliged. Upon arrival to my room under heavy rain downpours, I found my so-called prepared supper prepared with all the decency of a dog's dinner 🤨 . I have never felt so disrespected. Ready for me was dry porridge and shredded meat, yes, SHREDDED meat and nothing else. My dinner is worth R250,00. That dinner was very insulting.
