Island Vibe Jeffrey's Bay — Hotel in Kouga Local Municipality

I recently stayed at Island Vibes Hostel in Jeffrey's Bay,

and it was an amazing experience. The hostel is very close to the beach, which is perfect for surfing. They even offer surf lessons if you want to improve your skills. The beach is always full of surfers during the day, so it feels safe and exciting.

The beds at Island Vibes Hostel were comfortable, and you could see the sunrise from your window in the morning. There are many cozy spots where you can hang out, like by the campfire, at a lookout point with a view of the whole town, or inside near the pool table.

The staff at the hostel were really friendly and helpful. They were always there to answer questions and make sure everyone was happy.

There were lockers in the rooms, which was great for keeping your belongings safe. However, the lockers made a lot of noise when you needed to get something out.

One thing I really liked about Island Vibes Hostel is that they have WiFi even during loadshedding. It was nice to be able to work even when the power was out.

One notable aspect is that Island Vibes Hostel is located next to a township. The road leading to the hostel is a bit bumpy, with poor road conditions, similar to many areas in Jeffrey's Bay. While making our way to the hostel, by car, we encountered some people along the road who shouted at us. However, the hostel recommended taking a route along the beach to reach the town, when by foot, which was considered safe during the daytime due to the presence of surfers. It is important to note that, as is the case in various parts of South Africa, the situation can change in the evening.

We absolutely fell in love with this gem of a place!!! We had a 100% unspoilt view from the quaint yet absolutely amazing beach front room we stayed in!!!

From entering the premises at the entrance gate, pit stops & all, right through to where you exit the premises beache side Island Vibe Jeffrey's Bay is clean & tidy.

Would have been great if one of the hosts gave a bit more attention to our arrival aswell as informing us of the on site restaurant & bar facilities!!! Nonetheless they where friendly.

My personal opinion, after staying at Island Vibes Jeffery's Bay I will never ever seek any other accommodation!!!

Closer to the ocean will be hard to find!!! Most relaxing, laid back, safe, clean & all round most unique backpackers ever!!!

Truly a place like Island V8be Jeffery's Bay that contributes alot to the great name this precious town already has!!!

What an incredible first experience with Island Vibes. My husband told a funny story about a trip from the Eastern Cape to Cape Town where he drove past Island Vibe in Knysna and didn’t know the name and talked about them and the minute he referenced the iconic hand gesture featured of the logo, the person knew the place he was talking about! We drove past the sign after a trip when we started dated, again on the way to East London after our 1 year anniversary. We decided to book a stay with them on our way back to Cape Town. Originally booking for Knysna but after hours of driving, we looked for places close to Jeffreys Bay and realised Island Vibe had a branch there too. We phoned them hoping to be able to transfer our booking, not feeling hopeful we would be successful but within 30 minutes of calling to enquire, the reception arranged for us to transfer our booking to Jeffrey’s Bay at no additional cost! Thank you to the Island Vibe team for making our stay so pleasant! Your team is amazing and you’ve created something so special!
