⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Staying at SurfLodge South Africa was truly an unforgettable experience. From the very first moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for. The entire team is incredibly friendly and always willing to help, which made my stay not only comfortable but also very special. Their attitude really sets the tone and makes the place feel like home.
The surf lessons with Adrian were absolutely outstanding. He is not only a great surfer but also an excellent teacher who knows how to adapt to each student’s level. His passion for surfing is contagious, and thanks to his guidance I was able to enjoy the waves of Jeffrey’s Bay with much more confidence. Whether you are a beginner or looking to improve your technique, Adrian makes the experience both fun and professional.
The host also deserves a special mention – extremely attentive, approachable, and always making sure every detail was taken care of. That personal touch made me feel valued as a guest.
My room was nothing short of luxurious: spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully prepared. Every detail was designed for comfort, making it the perfect place to rest after a full day of surfing and exploring.
The location of the lodge is excellent. It offers a stunning and direct path down to the beach, which is absolutely epic, and at the same time it’s only a 5 to 10-minute drive from Jeffrey’s Bay’s main beach. This combination gives you the best of both worlds: privacy and tranquility with easy access to the heart of JBay.
In short, SurfLodge South Africa is much more than just a place to stay – it’s an experience that combines top-class hospitality, world-class surf, and a unique environment. Without hesitation, it’s a place I would gladly return to and one that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting this party...
Read moreWe were supposed to stay in the poolside apartment/room for 5 nights. This room was however very musty and smelled like my grandmas basement. Two air refresheners that were already in the room didn't manage to hide the smell... Also, you had the feeling the people who are in the room above you would come crushing down at any second. Luckily we were able to change the room. Try to avoid this one. In general: Don't expect this place to look anything like the pictures. It has not been renovated in years and many things need urgent attention. E.g. half of the door handles don't work properly... Easy things to fix really.
BUT: The staff did an amazing job! The breakfast was always on point and the braai was on another level. The volunteer Clara really killed it! We felt at home the whole time. The people care for your experience and really make an effort. It kinda felt like you were staying at a friends place. Also, the cooperation with the surf school works really smoothly. Lastly, the deals they offer are quite good.
All in all I would probably stay there again. But still: Give the lodge some...
Read moreThe lodge location is amazing, close to the beach and surrounded by vegetation. The environment is very relaxed, usually associated with surfer's lifestyle. The staff is helpful, friendly, and invite you to join them for activities (such as group dinner or drinks at local places, braai). They helped me with organizing a n afternoon safari at Schotia game reserve. The lodge is a mix of B&B, hostel and surf camp. There is the possibility for cooking your own meals, but included breakfast is an option. It is possible to have other services: surf lessons, guiding to surf spots, yoga lessons and massages. There is also a swimming pool, a TV room with Netflix, and three friendly dogs that were adopted and are taken care by the staff. They sell also a towel with a painting from a local artist (I bought it as souvenir), sunscreen and lip balm. I had a really good time there and I recommend the place, the staff makes you feel that you are...
