Currently on a business trip in Durban (from Melbourne) and staying close to the businesses that we are working with. We are about 20km north of the Durban CBD staying at the Kingfisher Lodge.||Not much really around the local area - it's a mix of residential and industrial. Probably not a place to holiday (I assume there are better options if your hear for a holiday).||Kingfisher Lodge itself is neat and tidy and comfortable for a business trip. Free wifi for guests (although can be slow at times - not sure what normal standards are here in Durban though).||Meals are reasonable - although do keep your wits about you at breakfast time and smell the milk before you add it to your coffee - it's occasionally sour - which as my colleague would attest to (he has mistakenly drank it on several occasions now) - is not the best start to a day...||Drinks at the bar are cheap - compared to Australian prices. Just over R50 for a double Gin and Tonic. That's a little over $5 AUD... Would easily be double that back home!!!||All up - a good comfy place for a work trip. No serious complaints. It's not 5 star, but it's not a dive either.||The view from the back deck across the lake to the golf course is also quite nice on the warm mid-winter evenings here.||Keep an eye out for the local monkeys. Rather cheeky by all accounts. They haven't been too bad - but apparently will break into your room and mess it up badly if you leave a...

We were shown around by Elaine and even met Anthony the owner. On our arrival for Christmas I was simply taken aback.||Ranton and the other gentleman were so accommodating and so was Elaine. My first stay ensured that we went back for Easter 2019 and I have booked again for December but saddened that I did not get the suite I wanted as they were booked however I am sure that we will have another memorable week. I would recommend Kingfisher to anybody who want to just relax and enjoy home...
