L'Escalier Cabanas 107 — Hotel in KwaZulu-Natal

PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a Hotel. It is a building consisting of self-catering, furnished FLATS, owned by individual owners, and the building and terrain is managed by their Body Corporate. Flat layouts are well designed. Beautiful views. Very noisy on top floor with extractor fans of all braais and bathrooms below on the roof. We stayed there for 3.5 months in 2017 due to work. The lift blew up and took the Body Corporate months on end to repair, so people had to carry their heavy groceries and luggage up and down on endless flight of stairs. Was no joke walking up and down 7 flights of stairs with heavy loads. The caretaker was not very friendly or helpful with anything you approached him with. Agents are almost impossible to reach too. But I guess your experience all depends on which unit you get...

Our unit was not in the best condition, but the amenities, location, comfort, and general stay were good. I would not recommend a top floor unit due to the fact that everyone's braai debris landed on our balcony, which meant a sticky and black residue. We had to keep the doors closed from 6 pm until about midnight... which is silly as you come to the coast to see, smell, and hear the ocean. Our washing/towels landed up, smelling like smoke. The unit was decorated well and had everything we needed. We were a 5 minute walk to the beach, the elevator was quick. The pools were a lovely bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit just needs a good paint and a new fan for children's room. Pack your own towels, extra blankets and...

Place not as clean as what I’m used to, furniture in apartment old and no daily cleaning service included. Some equipment did not work like extractor fan for bbq smoke, gas bbq had no gas, plasma screens did not work do no tv and no tv fanes for the young ones, air-cons not working, and one of my biggest gripes were the overall noise levels. Residents play loud music in their units and at the pool, and security seems complacent.
