At Ocean Hideaway in Amanzimtoti, we had a fantastic stay!||||Out of the blue we received a call a day prior to our arrival, and were told that we were upgraded to the Honeymoon suite. ||||We were ecstatic - and for good reason as well - we had a direct view of the ocean - from our bed! (See attached photo).||||The property is clean, homely and stunning! Everything is ship-shape and beautiful. The ashtrays outside are kept clean, the gardens are lovely and there is enough park spaces. Our suite was big, beautiful and quite spacious, with a view to die for.||||We usually rate any place we stay at according to their shower and we are pleased to report that, not only does Ocean Hideaway have the most amazing shower head ever, the water pressure was simply fabulous!||||Our suite also had a ceiling fan as well as an aircon - which was absolutely wonderful, considering the weather in December. Even on the cooler days we preferred to stay inside under our lovely aircon.||||The fridge was kept well-stocked and prices were affordable. We liked the variety we were offered.||||Breakfast each morning was great - apart from the lovely fresh fruit salad, yogurts, bread (for toast), cereals etc., our order was taken every morning and our breakfast custom-made for us, depending on what was offered on the particular morning. It was of great quality. The only little baby-bit of downside was that we felt breakfast being offered between 7 and 9 during the holidays, was definitely too early as we never got the opportunity to sleep in, which would have resulted in us missing breakfast (inclusive). This being said, breakfast was great and fresh.||||The communal Lapa was lovely. We went shopping and stored our food et al in the communal fridge, where it was not touched. The lapa is issued with every one might need in a kitchen and dining area. We loved spending time there.||||The staff and owner were all fantastic, discreetly going about their business but always being knowledgeable and available. We were impressed with the friendliness of the cleaning staff, garden staff and the night watchman!||||Again, the views were fantastic, the stay - cosy and the price - excellent!||||The beach IS accessible from the premises, if you don't mind a steep downwards climb and a brisk upwards climb. Ocean Hideaway is the only property in the area that offers an accessible pathway to the beach, even though it is not a swimming beach. We enjoyed the exercise, although it was rather grueling - point is, I am extremely unfit and not in the mood to exercise - EVER - and yet, I LOVED the adventure of climbing down and back up again. When I say 'Climbing', note that they have laid cement slats etc to make the pathway easier to manage - very thoughtful, in my opinion!||||I should mention the following:||||1) Free WiFi available through-out - what a bonus!||2) Even though this is not offered, I made arrangements with Michelle to provide us with certain drinks etc in our fridge, to be available for us on arrival, since we traveled by bike and were fully packed and tired by the time we arrived. They bought everything I asked for in advance and kept it for us in our fridge and when we arrived, we didn't have to first unpack, get geared up again and go shopping on the bike. We thought this was handled fantastically and we felt they went out of their way for us.||||Highly...
Read moreStayed here for one night during a business trip. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. ||The room itself was a bit on the small size with no view or outside balcony. The room was furnished in a cosy, homely way with lots of trinkets "clutter" which didn't appeal to me at all. I am giving a rating of 3 because I would prefer to stay in a standard room that is simple, like a hotel, for business. If you are looking for a place where you feel you are staying with family this is the place. The breakfast was great for the price paid for the room and once again service was excellent. The ocean view was stunning when you walk to the edge of the property, downside no access to beach from the B and B. ||Also not sure if the BnB is really suited for longer stays but overnight...

Good food, clean lovely nicely decorated rooms, amazing staff, amazing view, and great vibes! The choice of decor already gives you a relaxed beach feeling before you even get to the beach.
Joyce the owner is always there to greet and chat with her guests at breakfast and add a bit of that personalized touch.
Amongst the array of bed and breakfasts along the stretch, I always prefer to stay at Ocean Hideaway whenever there are rooms available and I'm travelling along to the Amanzimtoti area.
Great job...
