The area is absolutely beautiful , the hikes, dam, fishing, views and walking trails are all great 5 stars! We stayed in the exclusive self catering houses which I’m sorry but just does not match what is sold to you online when you look at the photos and read the layouts. The 2 houses share a wall so they are right on top of one another which provided little privacy when sitting outside. The hammocks could not be set up properly and the one was ripped so could not be used, advertising that there is an outdoor shower is misleading , it is literally a shower head coming out the front wall of the house outside the kitchen window, not what I expected. The views from NightJar cottage have been spoilt by farmers covering their crops in shade cloth which is unfortunate. When we arrived at NightJar we noticed one room had 2 singles in it instead of a double, management quickly fixed the problem by swapping us next door but we sadly lost the view. The inside of the houses is small and cosy, we were unable to get the air con/heater to work. The bathroom is the houses best feature, great shower and an amazing bath. For the amount that you pay to stay there I just expected a little bit more. The staff and management...

A single bed sized electric blanket in a double bed?|A microwave oven out of reach on top of the fridge.|A bathroom basin so high that I had to brush my teeth in the kitchen sink.|A toilet squashed in between a giant bath and the shower cubicle - not enough space.|The bathroom so squashed that one had to stand in the kitchen to dry oneself.|To use the toilet during the night, we had to walk through the kitchen.|An outside shower that splashed all over the decking - we did not use it.|For the price one would expect a laundry list and prices - but no. We paid R250.00 for 8 garments to be washed and no, we were not buying a new washing machine.|For the price, we also expected the cottage to be serviced daily but this came at an additional charge way above the hourly rate paid to the staff.|A pensioners discount was advertised but we did not get it when booking on Nightsbridge and no effort was made to refund us.|The much vaunted hot tub was filled with dubious-looking water. To use it, there was an additional charge for wood to heat the water.|We have nothing but praise for the 5 other places we stayed at on our road trip. It is really sad that our stay in Robertson was so disappointing. We definitely...

Attending a wedding at Pat Busch was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and were met with the most sensational views. The wedding was stunning, and the reserve’s beauty took everything to the next level - every aspect of the venue was picture-perfect.

We stayed in one of the on-site AfriCamps Glamping Tents for the weekend, and it was perfect. The accommodation was comfortable, spacious, and full of charm, with all the amenities we could possibly need. Waking up to the sound of birds, with mountains (and dam) in view, was an absolute dream. There was even a chance to explore the reserve a bit, with trails and little nooks that were great for the more adventurous ones in the group.

The staff members were incredibly friendly, professional, and seemed to handle every detail with ease, everything felt very relaxed and easygoing. It was clear they genuinely cared about making it a special experience for everyone there, not just the bride and groom.

As a wedding venue, Pat Busch Mountain Reserve is a hidden gem, but it’s also a marvelous mountain escape. I’d return in a heartbeat,...

Well my daughter and her fiancĆ© had their wedding there this past weekend, and let me tell you we had such a blast. They did everything and made it so special. The tents were we stayed were amazing with a beautiful view overlooking the mountains. So secluded and such a peaceful area. The effort from the staff to make sure we had what we needed was excellent. The setup for the wedding was amazing, they had put up umbrellas as it was too hot to sit in the sun, the coordinator knew exactly when to open the doors for each person to walk out and it was just planned put so well. There were cold bottles of water at the entrance for the wedding guests before getting seated because it was a very warm day. The food at the event was delightful, it was cooked very well with a variety of salads on the side. There was a dance floor where my daughter and I did the daddy-daughter dance. We had the best DJ playing awesome songs which we danced to all night. I don’t think it could have gone any better and if I could go back to the reserve I definitely would ! Thanks for the effort Kind regards, Dustin!

A weekend in this little bit of paradise is not enough! We had the most beautiful winter stay. The tent is big and spacious and really has everything you need. Complete with fireplace and aircon which doubles as a heater for those cold winter nights and early mornings. To wake up to the sun's first rays hitting the mountains was breath taking. We enjoyed a lovely 6.5km hike up Middlerug which was so beautiful with 360° views of the mountains and rolling hills. We did have a visit or two from a couple of huge rain spiders on our tent but that is to be expected with nature right at your doorstep. I loved our stay and will definitely go again!
