Taaibos Bush Lodge — Hotel in Maruleng Local Municipality

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Taaibos Bush Lodge (June 8-11 2025) and our stay could not have been better.||We were greeted by Jeroen on arrival who helped us with our luggage and showed us to our private little lodge/room. There are 4 separate lodges/rooms, each with a little kitchenette, patio with chairs, en-suite shower and toilet. Being part of the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate means that animals (no lions or elephants or rhinos) are free to wander around, and we had a sighting of a giraffe just as we arrived. During our stay we saw several antelope species, many birds, a few warthogs, and some smaller mammals.||The cooked breakfast, served in the main dining hall each morning, was excellent, and if they are serving the non-dairy granola/fruit/cream pots you are in for a bonus treat. We met Pep on our second day there (the other owner), and he was just as helpful and courteous as Jeroen.||While not quite a safari lodge, the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, and Taaibos Bush Lodge has enough privacy and green space to feel like one. Large comfortable bed, great indoor and outdoor shower, kitchenette so you can store some food for the times you just want to relax on your patio or sit on the bed or sofa and just stare out the large windows. The entire lodge/room was clean, and the bathroom roomy as well. It's a wonderful place to plan and base your adventures around Hoedspruit. Most of the major tourist destinations are less than an hours drive away.||We would highly recommend staying at Taaibos Bush Lodge. It feels like home. And we...

A special place run by two very special people! Juli 2024 I really can't recommend this place highly enough! We have been visiting the Hoedspruit area for many years and this was certainly one of our best stays in Hoedspruit. Taaibos is conveniently situated close to town, so ideal if you want to do day trips, visit restaurants, shopping and re-charge your batteries. Despite its proximity to the town you still get a fabulous wildlife/bush experience. There are so many animals that wander through, nyala, kudu, giraffe, warthog, impala- certainly, the highlight for me was the bush babies in the evening. The chalets are ideally situated, the decks look out onto the bush which gives a real feeling of privacy, they are very nicely decorated, great beds and very fast internet. But what really makes this place special are the hosts Jeroen and Pepijn. They have a wealth of knowledge about the area but also about the animals that visit their beautiful lodge and are happy to share this with you.
