We were hugely impressed by our stay. Full marks for cleanliness and service. The chalet was equipped beyond expectations. We loved the walk to the small dam on the property and spent a happy afternoon just ambling around the small but obviously much loved garden that Mildred, the host of the property, keeps. We were fortunate to meet both the host and her son who are warm and generous folk! Their generosity is clear in the manner in which they equip the accommodation they provide. So happy we found Ilanda Guest House! We had to make a last minute booking to spend the night in White River. The booking went effortlessly, we phoned ahead and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. We were warmly welcomed (despite the rain) by Sheron, who is such a sweet lady. Our car got stuck in the mud and she was even willing to try and help us push it out! Kat assisted us the next morning, towing our car out of the mud. So helpful, friendly and kind. I slept in the room closest to the living room and the kitchen and every morning I woke up because of the sound the staff made while setting up breakfast for the guest at 5:30.if I look out the window to the right there is an entrance to the kitchen for the staff and they left the door open everytime while they were setting things up so I could hear them speak and the glasses and plates hitting each other. Breakfast is the worst we've had in two weeks in Africa. The rooms are nice but nothing special. There are way better options...
