The resort looks amazing but the accommodation was very disappointing. The first unit had a horrible stench from what we were told, was the bin area in the unit. The unit was dirty and we complained to the front desk, who immediately sent a cleaner. It still smelled very bad and we went back to the front desk and they changed our room. It smelled better, but also very dirty. Couches were dirty and bathrooms were not very clean. They said it is the water that they use which makes all the stains. We also were not happy with the cleaning lady using the kitchen sink to rinse her mop and bucket. It is where we would wash our food. This resort really needs to get their act together because it can be very beautiful. I will not return or recommend as it stands now.

The lake is spectacular for swimming and boating. However, not having a hotel to sit and have a drink or sandwich makes it get 3 stars. We loved our time there. I would make these recommendations: Somewhere to get a sundowner; Perhaps afternoon bingo and general knowledge quiz activities like other Tsogo Sun resorts; A coat of paint for units (inside) to freshen them up - paint bedroom cupboards for example. Having said all of the above, we enjoyed our week there. Staff are friendly and helpful. Wellness and Health Spa was worth a visit. I used the little gym which has cold water and fresh towels. Treadmill was a little old and noisy though. Great place for a family holiday. Local Casterbridge and Bagdad Centres were great!

Lovely chalets which are unfortunately totally unsuited to the aged and physically disabled due to the multi-level lay-out of the chalets with several stair cases in every unit. The view however is spectacular which in conjunction with the tranquility of the place is like balm for the weary soul. The service is friendly and efficient from the security to reception to the housekeeping staff as well as the gardeners etc. Personally I would hate to have small children here as one would need to keep an eye on them the ENTIRE time with the dam and pool, but there are swings and other facilities to keep them busy. We will definately be back.

My family and I with my 70 year old mother visited Pine Lake Resort from the 30 June - 3 July 2023. Upon arrival we were met by a very Friendly Security by the name Ronnie. We went to reception and was again very well received by the gentleman there (can not recall his name). Came to our unit and was again very impressed by the beautiful view from the unit as well as the unit self. Unfortunately our whole experience changed on the Saturday late afternoon when we came back from sight seeing at God's Window and the Potholes. The immobilizer on our vehicle suddenly did not want to work anymore and we came to the conclusion that we need replacement batteries. Without the immobilizer our vehicle will not start and we had a booking at the Kruger for the next morning (which was the BIG highlight of our holiday). Contacted my insurance also to find out they can only assist if the keys was locked inside the vehicle or if we were stranded at an unsafe location. We had no other way of transport so we went to reception and security to see if someone can assist us with a ride into town to get new batteries. We even asked our immediate neighbors but they could not or would not want to help either. NO vehicle from the resort side available to help us with a ride into town. I contacted the General Manager who was at that moment in Nelspruit at Innibos festival. She promised to see if she could find batteries on her way back. She did contact me late at night confirming that she could not find any. Sunday morning @ 7am I went to reception to once again ask for help with a ride into town. Reception was still closed. Strange as the sign operating Hours clearly shows 7am on Sundays. At 07:45 me and my 14 year old son decided to walk the 8.5km to the nearest mall and another 8.5km back to the lodge as there was no vehicle available or no one that even offered a ride knowing that we had no other transport. One would think that a luxury resort as Pine lake would have an emergency vehicle available but no they don't. Most of the people on duty the weekend was aware of our problem but did not bother to ask if they can assist with a ride or even getting food. (No Restaurant on the premises) Only after my son and I got back to the lodge at 11:45 (walked 17km uphill and downhill) did the Manager asked if we sorted our problem. Personally I think that Pine Lake Resort did not care about our problem as they never offered to help us to sort the problem. Only after I already walked to town and back they were shocked and offered a ride. Needless to say this whole ordeal left us with very Bad memories of the resort. Beautiful Resort but without any courtesy/emergency vehicle to assist guests in such situations. Will never want to go there again as we will always be reminded of the lack of help and interest they show to...

am very upset with the Chalet.|I confirmed my exchange with you guys on the 24 of September 2024, |3 months before checking in, and when I arrive to check I get allocated the worst chalet possible. I have my elderly parents with me 80 and 85 yes old. The first thing when we get here is the 100,s of steps to climb down to the chalet from the car, and to get back to the car all the steps to climb back up again. To get down to the lake or just on to the lawn is lime climbing down a mountain and back up the mountain to get back to the chalet. How on earth must my elderly parents manage this. I went immediately back to the reception on arrival to ask for another more suitable chalet. But they could not help me. Even for my elderly parents to take a shower in the downstairs bathroom is a mission because tgdy have to climb up into the bathtub to be able to take a shower. The aircon in the main room does not work, the television downstairs is buffering. This is the absolute most PATHETIC CHALET available. Before sending this email I have been a few times already to the reception explaining the situation and asking them to assist me. Spoke to the ladies that work there. But they don't seem to be able to. I booked my confirmation 3.5 months in advance and also took out a Holiday protection, in order to secure a chalet that is in front of the lake and not inconvenient and yet to but to be treated like this is when I arrive is the most pathetic service I can think of. My elderly parents can't go down to the lake, they can not climb the steep steps back to the car, showering the bath tub is impossible, etc. This is the most pathetic service anyone can get, especially considering that I booked so long in advance and I bought a holiday protection. I am going to ho so public with this issue, it's going to be absolutely nightmare for the resort if you'll don't sort this out and make up for it for the time lost. |I am Absolutely ANGRY...

Close to Nature with modern delights

2 Adults and 1 Child (10 years) for 3 nights

Location The resort is Off the beaten trek but not so far that you feel completely cut off from society. The quiet tranquil surroundings is just what the doctor ordered.

If you want to get a away from the hustle and bustle of life this is the perfect place to detox and switch off. You have a stunning view of the dam from your personal BBQ area which allows for amazing Instagram worthy sunrise photos.

Amenities The self catering chalet is fully equipped with cooking essentials to whip up any meal. There is a microwave, stove, oven and full size fridge. The kitchen will put most South African cooking spaces to shame with every possible tool available. The BBQ area was fantastic and absolutely spotless. Furniture in the lounge is very comfortable, a perfect spot to enjoy your afternoon coffee overlooking the beautiful dam.

You wake up every morning the way nature intended to local birds getting themselves ready for the days activities... urging you to do the same from your warm bed. Bathrooms were functional and spacious.

Kids Activities 🎾 Kids are spoilt for choice with: Adventure Golf Playground Trampoline Volleyball court Tennis court Giant chess set and more

Price 💰💰💰 Considering the location comfort and quality it is extremely well priced. You can see how much effort has gone into keeping the property in immaculate condition. The manicured gardens are worthy of a mention. Hats off to the landscaping gardening team... Just wow!😲

Parking🅿️ We felt completely safe in the gated community. Security guard Thomas greated us with the warmest smile every day- We felt like family.

Beautiful memories were made. Thank you Pine Lake Resort we had such a lovely time! You deserve 5...
