The Purple House B and B — Hotel in Mohokare Local Municipality

It is always a pleasure staying over at Johann Greeff's Purple House. Johann has an eccentric lust for life which always spills over to visitors at his guesthouse. Okay, I must confess, he is my brother but I can assure you he runs his life as if he were your own loving family when you are his guest house. He really has a wonderful way of interacting with everyone. His guesthouse has quirky features like the back half a bicycle stuck into the wall of two quality rooms built in a circle with the other forward half of the bicycle protruding from the opposite side of the building. He projects humour, attentive service and genuine interest. The rooms are excellent with TV and aircon in a quiet spot of Smithfield. Ideal for a stayover after a long drive. He often arranges dinner for guests at the old bowling club. When we stayed over this month, my wife and I with Johann and Kitty had excellent pizzas for dinner. I had left EC late after a funeral and could feel tiredness by the time I reached Aliwal North. I called every accommodation place I could find from Aliwal North and Rouxville, no luck. When I reached Smithfield I stopped at the petrol station and asked for any accommodation reference, the lady at the convenient store recommended Purple House, I.searched on Google, at that point I was ready for another rejection as it was quite late but instead Johann didn't hesitate to wake up and offer assistance. I got to the Purple House and was met by a very warm, friendly man who made me feel at ease immediately.

He only had one room left and I grabbed it. The room was inside the house, very clean, neat, comfortable, cozy and homely. I dosed off the minute I got into bed.

Thank you Johann for your kindness and hospitality. Who knows what could've happened to me on the road if you hadn't accommodated me?
