Bayside Hotel Pietermaritzburg — Hotel in Msunduzi Local Municipality

DO NOT GO THERE! We booked online and were taken by the lovely pics of the place which were somehow deceiving😏the place is situated in a not so environmentally friendly place as the area is congested filthy and noisy due to shisanyama & the bottle store next to it.You just feel unsafe the moment you check in.The hotel itself is also untidy and the housekeeping standard is extremely low and one would think there is no supervisor present/employed.The beds linen are full of stains which are unpleasant to look at and in one room (114) which was given to us had it's sheets full of hairs as if it wasn't changed from the previous user🤮.when I went to approach the receptionist by the name of Nombuso to come and have a look at what we encountered,she didn't even bothered going with me but instead told the security guard to go with me to have a look and offered us another room (119) which at least had no hairs on the sheets but the linen was also stained and dirty,the floor tiles was brighter than the bed linen😢.We slept for one night and never went back for our second night which was paid for..The house keeping staff including the supervisor if there's any needs to FIRED & Nombuso has to go for training specifically in customer care.The bathroom door had no handle and the bed was adjacent to a window that had an outside light coming straight at you while you are sleeping and the curtain didn't do justice as it was smaller than the window🫤I've never been in horrible place like that and would rather sleep in my car than going...

I was there with my family and my extended family, the rooms and the service were all good, we occupied the family rooms which had everything from fridge to teaspoon. Would of loved though to have more soap and shower caps and not just one as it is a family room. The location of hotel was not welcoming at all, it's super busy and there are tarvens all around and very noisy so much that you can't sleep at night. The nice thing was the private parking that helped ease of the fear of our cars getting...

Please reconsider staying here if you value your life. The location made for one of the most uneasy experiences of my life. We arrived to load shedding so left to get food and returned to find police vans, ambulances and crowds of people blocking the road. The bed sheets were dirty with stains, we could barely sleep. The bathroom floor covered in old dried urine. The shower had hair strands stuck to the walls. We couldn't wait to get done and leave the next day....
