booked a one night stay at Matt's with Agoda.it was by far my worst experience ever. Before making my online booking I called the B and B to confirm which room would be suitable for my family as most times what u see online is not always correct. I spoke to the receptionist and she assisted me on which room will be suitable for my family. She stated that the original room that I wa looking at is "Loerie" and is smaller then the one she suggested "Hadeda". The Hadeda was more expensive the. The Loerie but since she insisted that's the room I should book I went ahead and booked and paid fully on the website. I then called them back the next day to book a microwave but the same lady said there isn't any available and we should use the one at the Lapa. She then said the Loerie roo. Is booked for us. To my surprise I asked he why that room when I booked and paid for the bigger room, she said the aircon in that room is not working and booked the Loerie as back up. I was upset and said I am not hapoy that u didn't even notify us. She said not to worry when u get here we will sort it out for and is sure by the time we arrive the next day the aircon will be fixed. When we arrived at the B and B the first thing that really stood out was when we arrived at the gates they did it wait for us to press the intekom or even ask who we were., they just opened the gates. The B and B is situated in a very quiet area and the fact that they opened the gates without confirming raises a huge red flag. When we got to the entrance that said reception, there was no one there and we had to wait almost 19 minutes before someone cam out. The lady looked like she was sleeping and didn't even apologise. She didn't even ask who we were. It's almost like she was expecting us and I gave her my name and she said oh yes. You have to pay R500 more cash only. I was totally and utterly shocked. When I tried to question why I needed to pay when I had already paid fully online she started becoming aggresive and saying we didn't pay the full price online and if I booked with Agoda they get nothing so I have to pay them extra. When asked what the R500 was for she said for the kids. R250 per child. I said to her that is not what we discussed. But she spoke above me and said even the other guest were complain yesteday and today another group of people were complaining and that she is tired and doesn't care and we need to pay. I told her I want to speak to the owner, she refused and said she owns the B and B. Eventually I had to go back to website and look for another number and I manage to get another number for the owner. As soon as I mentioner I made a booking with Agoda the owners tone changed and said I should have booked directly with them as they do not get any money when booking with Agoda she said if we not happy we would cancel our booking with Agoda and book another place. I explained to her when tried booking on their website it said that the rooms were fully booked and said to her we are at the premises now and the receptionist is extremely rude. She is insisting I need to pay for both my kids 4 years and 9years. I said to her I am willing to pay for my 9 year old because we don't have choice and it's too late to find another place. She abruptly said I should call her back in 5min. By this time we went back to the receptionist and she said she if we paying they only take cash. I was so shocked as to what she said. It almost seems she was trying to make money for herself and when we refused she got angry.p. My kids were already so traumatised and said swe should leave because the receptionist looks scary. and the place looks dangerous. By this time we already made our decision we should leave due to the behavior of the receptionist and the attitude of the owner because we booked through Agoda. The owner called us back and said we should take our things and leave. She didn't even care that it was a public holiday, that we could be stranded and had two small kids. Anyway after three phone calls we managed to find a hotel that actually was a proper hotel and had all the safety precautions. They assisted and accomdated us at such short notice us after we told them of what had just been tbrough. When we drove into the hotel the kids even said "this looks like a hotel not the other place we were in". I was totally shocked when at booking in at the hotel another couple overheard my conversation with the front desk lady and said that they had experienced the same at Matt's and were forced to stay at the hotel. I could not believe it. I think the lady that works for Matt's is very u professional and was trying to make extra money and the owner is not aware of this. This was by far. My worst experience ever and I want a full...

Read moreNicely run venue that seems secure with parking inside the venue off the road. Close to Savannah Hills where we were meeting for a church function. We stayed for 3 nights. Friendly email and booking experience. Room was clean and well kept with water nice and hot. King bed was comfortable and great linen + nice decor. But it had a lump in the middle where the twin beds join. Suggest they get a thicker convertor that would solve the problem. Luckily I was there alone. We did experience a rowdy crowd staying there on 2 nights. With some of the rooms close to the pool and the area around the pool having braai facilities, chairs, lounge suite and microwave it lends itself to a nice place to relax as a crowd. Problem is if you are not part of the crowd and want to sleep. They did turn down the music at 10ish which I would imagine management asked them to do. Breakfast was great and the dining area very nice. I would stay here again. Just check they not going to have a party crowd if...
