I have been coming to St Lucia since i was a child. Booked rooms for 12 adults and 2 children over the weekend. Booked double beds for every room. On arrival, the receptionist was confused about this and couples ended up sleeping with single beds pushed together. The walls were dirty (most likely from monkeys as it was higher up) the hairdryer was sticky (why!?) and there was so much dust on the headboard that my allergies woke me up every morning (allergic to dustmite). Asked for ironing to be done for 1 shirt and pair of shorts, the lady said it can only be done after 10am (they wont give you an iron, but they charge you R10 per item for them to iron) we waited until 11h30 but the lady did not come to collect our clothes. The rooms that i booked out were around the pool, and because i booked out almost half of the rooms in the lodge, my family decided to swim at night. There were probably only 2 or 3 rooms occupied by other guests. We were not drinking and there was no bad behaviour as there was an 11 y/o child present.Apparently one of the guests couldnt handle the noise and became 'irate' so the OWNER approached us, and instead of asking us politely to keep the noise down, he screamed at us and acted aggressively. We apologised and left the pool but we were extremely shocked and upset by his behaviour. In the morning the OWNERS wife approached one of my family members and asked him to apologize to the other guests at breakfast, which he did. Cannot believe the behaviour of the owners, especially since we booked out half the lodge and not just 1 room. Will never come back here as it is really not great value for money. There are plenty other lovely places to stay in St Lucia and we will stay...
Read moreLast April we spent 2 nights in the Lidiko lodge on our South-Africa road trip. This lodge was one of the best we've got during our holiday (all were very good although). Staffing very friendly and willing to support us where needed. We've had a family room which means 2 rooms with a door in between we could leave open. Nice breakfast. They warned us for monkeys to keep the door and windows closed. As Dutchies, we didn't do... Guess what... at one moment several Monkeys tried to get inside our rooms.. We were able to keep them out; but we had so much fun on this one, we will never forget. From the lodge it is safe to go out to one of the restaurants at night, easy to walk, several nice places to eat or drink. In the lodge they told us that you might see Hippo's on the streets when it gets dark. So during our diner at "Beef and reef" (best spot to see them) indeed the Hippo's were walking by. Amazing! We did a self safari to Cape Vidal. There is was safe to swim (no sharks) but the sea was to strong but nice temperature. The self safari was amazing. We spotted so much wildlife on the 1h drive from the lodge to the beach at cape fidal. We can recomment this one for sure to do. Big shout out to the...

From a sunset cruise to an encounter with a herd of elephant, the days are filled with such good memories. Thank.you all for making this...
