Unit we had was lovely and comfortable. We stayed in no 6. We arrived on a Sunday and left the following Sunday. It was a bit strange as when we booked we did not receive confirmation. No invoice no receipt. When we arrived all the dishes that had been washed was still in the drying rack🤔. There was no braai. The security let us in and had to fetch us a braai. Then the garden staff kept swopping the braai. Very annoying. Seems like a managerial problem. Great oven and stove. Microwave was a bit damaged so nervous to use it. TV is very small. Battle to see it properly when sitting on the bed. Maid only cleaned it if u told her too. When she did come in she did not make the bed. During loadshedding there is only a light. So there is no inverter to watch TV, charge phones etc. There is no mirror except in the bathroom. So if you want to blow dry your hair it's going to be a problem. As electric appliances should not be used in the bathroom. There is no coffee maker of any kind for ground coffee. There was no braai tongs, wipe up cloth or dish drying cloth. Very little diswash liquid. Well lesson learnt. Always take your own. 1st time I've been to a chalet without this kind of necessities. The airfryer is rusted so put a lining in 1st. Maid needs training. It is not in the interest of guests to find cookware under the sink. Furthermore there should always be a checklist in the unit so one can report if there are items missing. Management difficult to get hold of. Otherwise it was comfortable. Well after saying this I can see why St Lucia is going down. Estuary is overgrown with reeds. Seems like parks board are not interested in sorting out this problem. St lucia Sadly is not what it used to be. It's very sad. CAPE VIDAL is also very sad. Change rooms are dark and wet and sticks like a urine. U can't get changed in there. The water in the taps is brown. To stay in a unit with such poor amenties is not for me. The abulations in the camp grounds are also not up to scratch. It's really sad.. Kzn parks board need to sort themselves out and their...
Read moreClean, well equipped chalets make your stay at Manzini a joy. Large TV, with DSTV and a aircon in each unit makes quite a difference with the December heat.
The pool is definitely the main attraction, although other attractions and restaurants are located close by, making it an ideal walking distance. (Roughly 1km)
My only complaints would be that the Wifi is practically useless, and the entrance/parkings are very narrow.
If you’re staying at units 11-18, the parking is reserved on the right side of the premises. There is an extremely narrow road that leads down to these parkings. If you’re driving a big SUV/bakkie or you have a boat/trailer attached, you will have a tough time getting to the parking and possibly not even fit.
This, accompanied by the security guard telling me to ‘come park nicely’ at 9PM doesn’t really add to the experience. It is worth mentioning that I ensured that I was in between both white lines in my parking bay.
Manzini should really do something about this. The security also mentioned that we are not the first to complain, making it clear that most people seem to have a problem with the parking and roadway.
Other than that, no...
Read moreWe stayed here very last minute for 2 nights a couple of weekends ago. The chalet we had was close to the pool. Chalet a little dated but very clean and everything we needed. The pool was fabulous! It didn’t stop raining ( torrential!) the whole time we were there and there were torrents of water everywhere so we very much enjoyed the pool in lieu of the more usual safaris!||Manager was great and gave loads of uno including telling us if we wanted to leave St Lucia to go asap as part of the road had been washed away!!||||We’d love to come back and enjoy everything the area has to offer and we’d probably stay here...
